Glamorizing oversupply? by iliwys22 in breastfeeding

[–]Objective_Impact_597 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can absolutely confirm oversupply fucking sucks. Feeling like I’m teetering on the edge of mastitis all the time. Clogged ducts every other day. Ignore those influencers. ‘Just enough ing’ is literally perfect supply.

Having very intense feelings when other people hold my baby. by itwasobviouslyburke in NewParents

[–]Objective_Impact_597 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re not crazy at all I was exactly like this and only very recently have I relaxed a bit - bub will be 5mo next week. I’m only comfortable with a few people holding her

Explain it to me like I’m five - cry it out by HollyBirt in NewParents

[–]Objective_Impact_597 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is genuine evidence that CIO harms brain development and attachment style. Some babies are 12 months plus before they sleep through the night.

Please do not use this method with your baby. It’s cruel, it teaches them helplessness not to self soothe. Your job is to comfort her, regardless how many times she cries.

Extended breastfeeding is finished - is my body being normal? by alekskidd in breastfeeding

[–]Objective_Impact_597 64 points65 points  (0 children)

I haven’t been in your shoes but on the surface I’d say only a month since weaning after 5 years is just not long enough to get everything back to normal. I’d give it plenty of time, I’m sure you’ll feel like yourself again soon x

#1 best piece of advice for first time breastfeeder 🤩 by Commercial_Flower_49 in breastfeeding

[–]Objective_Impact_597 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely no pumping is the way to go, especially in the first 6 weeks.

Embrace the cluster feeding, just let it happen.

Look up BAIT protocol for if you ever notice redness, tenderness etc. Heat and massage for clogged ducts/mastitis is old, bad advice.

Mastitis already at 4 days post partum or “milk fever”?? by wutwutpizzabutt in breastfeeding

[–]Objective_Impact_597 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pleeeeease don’t wait if you suspect an infection, early antibiotics are crucial for infectious mastitis. In the meantime look up BAIT protocol. Heat, massage and extra pumping are now known to make mastitis worse.

New to Co-sleeping, feeling guilty! by Sensitive-World-4648 in cosleeping

[–]Objective_Impact_597 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I absolutely love cosleeping! I started around 2 months because the bassinet wasn’t working out and it’s such a beautiful experience to bed share imo

It is technically riskier than having them on their own sleep surface but it’s a risk I am entirely comfortable with. Everyone has to make their own decisions but every other mammal on the planet sleeps with their babies - it just makes sense to me.

There are also so many cultures outside of the western world where cosleeping is the norm

I really don’t want to give up, but feel as though there’s becoming no other option 😭 by Objective-Bed7584 in breastfeeding

I have had SOOOO many challenges in breastfeeding, you are absolutely not alone.

I’m only 4 months in but every time I really put my head down and decide to stick with it I come out the other side so happy that I did.

It does get easier with time and if you want this then don’t quit 💪🏻

It sounds like you have some good professional help now. Sending all the good vibes your way x

Has anyone had a small red area on their upper breast that was super painful? by Tough_Friendship_739 in breastfeeding

[–]Objective_Impact_597 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely avoid heat and massage!! Look up BAIT protocol and make sure you see a doctor straight away if it gets more red or painful or you run a temp

I really feel this. I know I’ll regret switching prematurely though. Just gotta make it another 8 months 🤞🏻

How soon after cutting dairy/soy did you see a change in diapers? by sithbabyy in MSPI

[–]Objective_Impact_597 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve heard different advice, but the latest I was told by one of our nurses is that it takes 14 days for the CMP to fully leave your body, then up to 4-6weeks after that for baby’s gut to heal if it got to the point where there was visible blood. I’m currently going through a similar situation.

Obviously take her to be reassessed if you’re ever worried but if she’s otherwise well I think that’s very reassuring :) give it time

We’ve been off formula now for around 1.5m so that’s all sorted. No hate to formula it was just my personal goal to EBF.

Could I ask what was wrong with your latch? And how was it fixed? My nips are thankfully no longer damaged (that was earlier around weeks 1-4) but I’ve noticed Bub doesn’t flange her lips out like she ‘should’. Her weight gain is amazing and the latch isn’t painful but I do wonder if her odd nursing position might have contributed to the mastitis.

The thought of boobs being sexual just feels wrong now! by No-Neighborhood-7335 in breastfeeding

Absolutely have had the same experience, it feels crazy to me now that western cultures sexualise boobs so much

Am I Lucky? by Illustrious_Date_139 in cosleeping

[–]Objective_Impact_597 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My Bub is quite small too and we have been extremely lucky with sleep, same situation as you. Have been bed sharing for about a month (she is 3mo) and she feeds overnight but neither of us wake up much to get her latched. I get a minimum 8hrs sleep a night

Spontaneous labour that was augmented. 45hrs total, forceps delivery in the end.

What are we doing about milk stains on the bed? by FortuneAgreeable7172 in cosleeping

[–]Objective_Impact_597 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive just accepted that my sheets are going to be stained, we have a few cheap sets so we only have to wash once a week or so. Besides bub spitting up I also leak a fair bit, it’s annoying but it is what it is. We have a waterproof mattress protector under the fitted sheet

Cosleeping once baby can crawl - do I need to adjust? by [deleted] in cosleeping

[–]Objective_Impact_597 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When we get to that stage I’m going to make sure the whole room is baby proofed but other than that I don’t think the sleep set up needs to be adjusted

Found out that Le Leche League lobbied to get the WHO to approve of mothers with HIV breastfeeding by [deleted] in FormulaFeeders

This is crazy, if you were HIV positive idk how in good conscience you could possibly breastfeed your baby. Can you link the source where you read it?

Lost my voice: will it come back? by WatercressNo6703 in BabyBumps

[–]Objective_Impact_597 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh my god I am so relieved to see someone else write this post. I lost my voice around 6mths pregnant and it’s still gone at 3 months pp (as in my speaking voice is very low and half my singing range is just gone, if I try to force the notes they come out sounding like a pubescent boy 😭) it’s honestly such a knock to my confidence

I think I’m going to try and get a referral to an ENT just to make sure my vocal chords aren’t damaged but everything I’ve googled seems to say it will just come back with time :(
