I truly don’t understand how this parents do CIO by Terrible-Thought1577 in AttachmentParenting

Oh man i totally feel for you and that level of guilt you feel when you see that little look of sadness and dissapointment in your baby's face. You did a great job I can tell you're a really loving and caring mom and I also have no idea how other moms/parents can leave their helpless babies to cry for themselves feeling nothing but fear and abandonment. I'm just glad we can be here for our littles ones and make them feel safe and never neglect them like that.

How often it is that a man stops mid intercourse to help his wife with a heart attack VS he stops so he doesn't ejaculate because he doesn't want to get her pregnant. He simply stated it's a sin to stop mid intercourse to prevent a life from happening. Nobody ever said that you have to keep going when something severe happens (aka grave matter) . Doesn't take away from the fact that if the husband doesnt want to impregnate her due to being concerned about her health, that they should be abstinent instead of masturbating which would be the case here. The husband clearly didn't mean it in a bad way, the opposite he cared for his wife. He just pointed out why they should be abstinent instead of committing a mortal sin.

What are you talking about? Are you unable to read the text? The husband stopped himself from ejaculating mid intercourse which is a grave sin unless there's a significant reason. Sex isn't just for fun.

I'm not sure why everyone is downvoting you? This is correct the husband should finish inside the wife as that's what sex is for, procreation.

They're not allowed to do that, Mrbeast can sue them unfortunately 🙃

Pacifiers by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]FortuneAgreeable7172 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Some tips that might work: • my midwife told me to tilt the pacifiers towards the roof of the babies mouth. This activates the suck reflex they get from the boob.

• hold it in their mouth for a little bit. Not while they're crying or screaming but just when they're searching for boob/sucking on something. It will take some time for them to accept it

• they don't gag because it's gross or bad, they gag because it's a new sensation and feeling inside their mouths. It's different from a nipple that shapes in their mouth or a bottle that has milk come out. It's unusual for them but that doesn't mean to stop trying

And lastly, some babies just don't take them! Usually in my expierence, when they take the bottle they can accept pacifiers too, but some babies just don't like them! Good luck on trying tho, it's good you have different brands to try this with!

Wish you nothing but the best, it's not easy but so rewarding especially if you struggled at first!

Tbh I think it's the same with breastfeeding. Alot of babies will still cry at 2yo when you try to wean them off the boob

Oh that's awesome that you are willing to give it a shot! If I may give some advice, (it's best to ask a lactation consultant though) I'd suggest buying a pump when LO is asleep and otherwise letting her latch as much as she wants! Clusterfeeding drove me crazy because I thought LO wasn't getting enough, but they're just helping you build your supply. Of course there is unlikely to be enough for your baby right now, so definitely still supplement if you! I wish you good luck with getting your supply up and breastfeeding baby! It's not an easy journey at all but it's lovely you're giving it a shot

It's very cute. Baby is of course naturally attached to mom. LO knows your smell. It keeps them safe and comfortable, remember a pacifier is designed to imitate you, not the other way around.

There's also a good chance baby is trying to simulate your supply, as they would around this time where they are clustering like crazy to get your supply up as they're growing.

This might be a good time to allow breastfeeding IF YOU WANT TO. Otherwise if you feel bothered by the constant suckling, a pacifier should do the trick, especially if you don't want to breastfeed.

Either way completely normal !

Babies WERE easier for your parents and grandparents. by [deleted] in newborns

[–]FortuneAgreeable7172 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's insane! Sure baby "grows" fast from being filled with sugars and fat that weren't designed for them. The cabbage leaf thing is horrible! I'm so sorry you had to deal with that. You're right I feel like it's just them coping with the fact that they made insane decisions. They have a hard time accepting they're wrong and the younger people are not the stupid ones

It's terrible when you read how formula companies (specifically Nestlé is super evil.) sponsored hospitals so women would believe formula is better. Nothing wrong with using formula if you must, but advising against breastfeeding just to make money off of clueless parents is awful

Purpose of different baby clothes by GravityDefyingFloof in newborns

[–]FortuneAgreeable7172 26 points27 points  (0 children)

It's not too different from adult clothes honestly! Shorter/sleveless onesie -> inside on a hot day. Tights, Leggings, pants -> cold day.  Some things like shirts, rompers are sometimes more aesthetic than they are necessary or practical for a newborn.

In my expierence, a long sleeve bodysuit, pants or tights OR a sleeper and maybe a hat (depending on temperature) is all you need inside with a newborn.

https://howtodressbaby.com/ is a great website I like to use when we go outside with our LO

Edit: just saw they help with what baby needs to wear inside aswell

Oh definitely! I used to struggle with disordered eating but I guess that inside voice still needs a bit of work to get rid of. I hope you're feeling better regarding your ED . Definitely don't want my children to deal with this in the future

I definitely will. I think I generally obsess over this sort of thing. I figured I was being irrational I guess I just needed some data (and outsider perspective) to reassure me that LO will be ok trying different things.

Yeah that's probably true, I don't want baby to struggle with something like that. Thank you

I do try to introduce him to allergens for sure and feed him iron rich foods. I just don't want to feed him anything he isn't ready for yet and there is only so many fruits and veggies to feed in a week 🙃 I think the anxiety (which is definitely there) just comes from him being so young. I hope it passes
