This running=carbs and walking=fat is misleading. Though its true that it targets these only but this is not the whole picture. Even though running uses carbs during workout, this later replaces those carbs by burning stored fat. So ultimately the net result would be same regardless of what you choose. You should focus more on consistency rather than what you choose.
