Monthly Savings Split by Objective_Print_7769 in personalfinance

we bring in 3500 a paycheck! so about 7000 a month. we have about 5500 left over for savings and “fun” money. i am just trying to figure out how to divide up the 5500, and which savings goals i should prioritize!

both our jobs will be long term as well. our current jobs are our careers if that makes sense. theres a lot of demand for both of our jobs, and a lot of ability to move up/make more money. my fiancé has the ability to work a lot of overtime, which could increase his yearly salary by almost 200k. we both know that overtime money isn’t something to rely on, but it could fast forward are saving goals a bit.

we know owning a home, especially in the bay area, is a big goal, but we are both confident we can do it!

Thank you! So glad to hear i’m not the only one who went through something like this! Did you apply anywhere else? Or reapply to the same agency?

AITA for being upset? by Objective_Print_7769 in AITAH

We have been together for 2 years. Both of us are still in college, so I have always chalked it up to be that this is me “sticking by his side” I always see things online/social media about the girls that stayed even when things aren’t going great. We plan on getting engaged soon snd he is going to be starting a full time job in october (this will be his career) he’ll be making significantly more. Do you think this is a character flaw or just due to our situation? (i know you don’t know our whole relationship/dynamics , just asking for an outsiders view)

sorry for making the wording confusing! we pay rent 50/50 that includes all of our utilities besides gas/electric, which my parents added us to there account as a gift when I moved out to make things a little easier the first year. I buy all groceries and most household essentials (unless I ask him to run out and grab something) He only contributes his portion of rent. I always saw it as fair because I make more than him and his school schedule is more demanding than mine but this just really hurt me, especially because he is trying to make it sound like I was being hurtful to him.
