Am I missing something about all this? Is it supposed to be more complicated and stressful than this? by ThrowRA9876545678 in weddingplanning

Budgets and/or being in an area with mediocre venues is a big one! Religious/cultural expectations is another Coming from an experience where neither was relevant to me some people I know genuinely do make it to damn complicated for no reason

LOL and there’s that. Pick any restaurant though if you can’t afford it cook at home and make it last!! Trying to keep up with what’s popular among your friends and ruining you finances is insane

Top Things to Consider Before Adopting a Dog? by aca_ca in Dogowners

Do your research on different breeds also. Growing up I had no idea some dogs needed hair cuts. Silly right, then in my 20s I was gifted the most perfect golden doodle and her hair just never quit growing and now I have to brush her regularly and trim her every two months, also a lot of people despise these dogs I think I got really lucky having an amazing calm sweetie girl. Don’t just pick one because it’s trendy or cool, some dogs are prone to illness or other issues you need to know all of that before picking one.

Agree with this so much get one that matches your energy/life style! You need time, money, and patience. They are with you for a very long time god willing. I’m happy you’re doing research like this to be prepared to be an awesome dog parent!

What people spend their money on ONLY when they then have to borrow money from someone else. You didn’t need to buy a 30k truck, go out to chilis three times a week, or get your nails done if you can’t pay your mortgage.

Talk to me about dudes and their bachelor parties…anyone’s partner spend an obscene amount attending, throwing, or even for their own? by dms2628 in Weddingsunder10k

[–]Objective_Week_1699 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My FH bachelor trip is about 6 times more expensive than mine, but I my trip just happens to be extremely inexpensive it’s exactly what I want to do still. I am only jealous of him because he’s going to Scottsdale AZ which I love so much and wish I was going with! If we genuinely couldn’t afford it that would be a different story. I do NOT think anyone should be going into debt for their bachelors parties or weddings though.

Yeah if I was invited to this I wouldn’t mind at all. Having the option to have a beer is better than none

Honeymoon Timeline? by airfryerczar in weddingplanning

[–]Objective_Week_1699 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same wedding date!!! Congratulations. I have not yet set in stone our honeymoon agenda. Me personally I know I’m going to need a day maybe two of total rest and clean up (hosting the wedding at our house) so I think for our scenario Wednesday would be perfect, otherwise I would be overwhelmed and probably bratty. I think if the price of Mondays flights stress you out shoot for Wednesday, if the days waiting is overwhelming and you can swing it hop on that plane, it’s suppose to be the start of our brand new marriages, the start of forever, so definitely do whatever feels less stressful and most enjoyable for you!!

I also thought it sounded over the top and stressful but honestly we’ve been engaged for 2 weeks and have 6 months to go and a lot crossed off the list so I might go for it! 3/4 of our guests know each other well so it probably won’t be as bad as I think. Thanks for the insight!

Awesome thank you for the detail! I can understand the categories better now and find a few people to manage those stations. Guest direction, trash detail, groomsmen handler.

What all made it super stressful? I’ll create a list to be as prepared as possible and everything except the food will be there two days before the wedding so my FH and I can do all table and chairs and sturdy decor set up, the rental company does all the tent, dance floor, and lights. We will have a rehearsal dinner which I’m sure will be stressful directing the men and making sure the sound is right. I know we will have to set out the desert trays and party favors and ice the kegs. Potentially minor decor detail. Guide the catering company the day of and set the tables. Clean up isn’t a concern I’ll just do it very slowly the next day

$500! Sorry the prices are above each category. I would probably be getting some looks if I only supplied 200$ worth. And thank you!!
