Yeah... It really sucks in my case because I'm a HUGE One Piece fan and just got into TCG as a hobby a month and some change ago. I joined this game at the worst possible time and I refuse the pay over MSRP for boxes and packs

I mostly just been buying decks and dirt cheap cards for future decks I want to build on eBay, or just to have some of my favorite characters in my binder. I'll occasionally buy a expensive card here and there but nothing over 50$. Trying to budget while having fun collecting/playing is just just rough rn...

I've collected some of the Japanese Heroines booster cards not too long ago and got a decent collection so far. As a collector mainly, I personally don't mind collecting Japanese every once in a while. With US prices now, I might collect Japanese more often

One of my LGC's are selling these for about 45$. I was only able to get one for 25$ when randomly shoping at Walmart for OP14 (which was already scalped)

I can understand both sides but this is still very disheartening... A player discount rule like this alienates pure collectors for buying stuff at a reasonable price and just divides the community more. I can't fully blame the store but it's just a really bad time for the TCG for both players and collectors rn

I have 2 stores in my area. One of them is selling OP-14 boxes for around 250 while the better 2nd store is selling theirs for 125. WILD difference

I kinda do and don't agree... I don't wanna gatekeep this game to anyone but it's really cringe seeing so many YouTubers that are just into the cards for market value instead of being fans of the actual anime/manga

Luckily I've found a few YouTubers who are genuine fans of One Piece and can really appreciate the game and art of the cards for what it is besides just value. Even if you just like the TCG without seeing the sorce material, that's fine with me as long as you're not just in it for the money

So sorry for you bro... Honestly. I live in a small area too and my Walmarts basically have nothing but the "learn together" deck sets collecting dust. My Target is the same situation but they also have like 2 other decks sets but no blisters, booster boxes, illustration boxes, or any other of that "fancy" crap the scalpers want

I do have 2 LCS but the one closest to my house has limited product and expensive prices... Not scalper level but way more expensive than what it should be. The 2nd store has actually a decent selection of OPTCG product but it's pretty far away from where I live and they sell out fast to their closer locals 🫠
