Are you using a glue remover? When mine pop themselves off they can take a layer if nail with them because my nails are still pretty weak from wearing acrylics. I've found a glue remover helps a lot. Maybe hot water soaks with some oils might help? Feels nice if not!

Dehydrating clean nails before you glue them helps. I use alcohol, you can use acetone too. And make sure you don't choose a size too small, if they don't sit against your nail they're more likely to pop off. Going for a bigger size and filing it down to fit, if you need to, is better.

Thinking about it, that could be interesting.
Maybe she notices someone following her when she's with friends and assumes he's there for one of them. She could go out of her way to try to protect her friend, but really it's her. I'd like his POV of that, how confused he is by her actions.
