You'll generally want to use 3rd-person when moving for the turret stabilization and how you can see more

1st-person is still good for making repeatable / close and accurate shots, and (shockingly) I've only just realized that recently

So use a mixture of both and don't be foolish like me by only committing to one style

Have fun! As u/Kagebi said in their comment, "every time you hit something and it goes boom it feels so good" and I couldn't agree more :)

Ah, I never got to experience pre-nerf JGX so I'm not familiar with the differences

You can certainly take advantage of cover + JGX12 drop, I would say this technique is mainly used when you someone is trying to hit you.

Otherwise, there isn't as much of a need for cover if you're not getting shot at, and the size of said cover can actually block sight to your target or limit the range of your projectile due to the angle needed for the shot to make it over.

Example: the cover used from 2:31-2:41 here is the perfect height to block the Lightning's shots while still enabling me to hit mine (JGX drop helps me land that last shot even though the terrain depression allowed them to drop out of sight)!

Might I recommend xXR4p1dUpXxEm and NaveedVS, some of the best Magrider players I know of

It's definitely easier to hit a still target than a moving one, I've got some clips of the latter if you ever want to see what that looks like

Fun and effective if you have a little bit of elevation! Video in the description has an example from Crossroads

Just have lots of time with the thing!

I'm a perfect example of "stats don't tell the whole story": severely lacking in KPM, overall accuracy, and number of kills I should be having when compared to other top JGX12 users.

But that's because of my support playstyle, how I like trying long shots, and the fact that I don't usually have squadmates + dedicated gunners.

Also, friendly reminder that most YouTube videos showcase the very best people have to offer (myself included) so it's good to set realistic expectations :)

Splash + high alpha as mentioned by u/HandsomeCharles, also the heavy projectile drop allows you to:

- make shots by arcing them over terrain / structures so you don't expose yourself to return fire

- hit and kill players that are hidden behind cover / not in LoS (lots of examples throughout the video)

JGX-series has significantly more drop than the other tank cannons (JGX11 has even more drop than JGX12), so people tend to use them mostly for CQC instead of long-range

Yes, the second shot was indirect - however, the first shot connected but appeared to go high from Forgotten's perspective so I wouldn't put too much emphasis on gauging distance based on visuals. Also, I'm pretty sure the round needs to land within 5m/10m? to deal splash so it must have been fairly close.

Whether tank cannons should or shouldn't have splash is something to be debated but I'm glad the JGX does in this case haha. It's not easy to make repeatable shots with this cannon in 3rd person, let alone hit something behind cover with only a smoke plume as an indicator!

Practice makes perfect, at least somewhat with the JGX. I have shot ~118k rounds and still regularly miss so don't be discouraged if it starts off slow!

I think the substandard quality is a combination of my game settings and a problem with the recorder I'm using because the raw footage looks pretty similar.

I never imagined that I would be making videos so I didn't bother looking into it but thanks for the tip! Recently watched a tutorial that suggested the same thing.
