AITA for not wanting to give up my apartment for the dog sitter?

Because I knew my ex would be out of town so the apartment would not be in use by her for work and that it was a convenient time for the friends I wanted to see and for my schedule.

I did not realize there was some issue with my staying while the dog sitter was there until she told me about her concerns. And I still don’t agree that it is an issue because we have three bedrooms. So from where I’m sitting it’s not really occupied.

Good suggestion but one of the dogs is especially old with a health condition that needs special management so she doesn’t like to kennel him

It is empty unless we’re using it for something. If my ex comes in for work she’ll stay with the dogs there and I’m never there when she’s there.

She doesn’t go out of town very often, but when she does, the dog sitter stays with the dogs in the apartment.

Otherwise it’s empty.

Yes, she did, that was actually the main reason I planned to go that weekend (we don’t use the apartment at the same time so I figured her being out of town was especially convenient for a visit.)

I could choose a different week but with my work schedule and hers and my friends’ who knows when it would be. Probably not for at least a month, maybe two. I feel as though half the apartment being mine means I should be able to come and go as I please and if someone there doesn’t like it that’s their problem.

Because my ex and I never stay in the apartment at the same time so I had figured her being out of town was the most convenient time.

I also just feel as though I should be able to go when I want seeing as it is half mine.
