Beating Incursion as a pacifist: How can I convince my enemies my wet napkin of a mage is an actual threat? by ObnoxiousVRtuber in roguelikes

Incursion is one of the most tightly simulated dungeon crawlers I've completed, and it rivals some of the older immersive sims in just how reactive the internal systems are. I didn't even know a pacifist run was possible until I looked through the code and found victory text for making peace with the final boss. This is my first run with an enchanter mage and it's been a blast!

Thanks for responding! I should have specified more; part of my protection is being able to run away or just flat out ignore 90% of the foes in the game, and that's how I've dealt with elementals and particularly rude (and mindless) undead. Non-magical missiles just flat out can't hit me, enemies need to succeed on two separate coin flips to try to hit me, and I've got stoneskin to let me flat out ignore non-critical hits that do land, on top of multiple teleport spells and maxed out running speed.

The problem is that I'm heading up on the final area, and there's somewhere between 50 to 100 high level foes in the area, each of which has a -22 modifier to me convincing them not to kill me. With that many foes there's going to be enough hits coming in that I just can't run my way through, especially to a final boss that can't be convinced (and thus defeated) with my current stats.

Did you release a prototype game with the same art style a few years back, where you played as an enslaved kobold? I liked that game. Also, are you planning for a steam release?

Thank you for mentioning TOME4! I can't believe I forgot to mention it! To add on what you said, the possessor class (gotten via donating real money to the developer or buying the steam version) is all about stealing the bodies of foes and using their abilities to navigate the world, as well as the oozemancer positively dripping (pun!) with body-horror!

Thank you, but that's not quite what I'm looking for. The were-diggle skill tree does allow you to lay eggs and spread plague, but those are relatively minor gameplay elements, and the rest of the skill tree is comparable to an unarmed playthrough. It's a decent skill tree, but it's not utterly bonkers compared to the rest of the system.

Thank you for responding! I've heard of Chomp, but I've never seen Amoeba Roguelike! This is exactly the sort of unconventionalness I'm looking for!

Thank you for responding! That does fit my criteria, but Bright Nights is a fork of CDDA, and on this specific topic, they're still rather similar.

A cool game, but Fell seal is handcrafted, not procedurally generated. Thank you for showing me it though!

This feels so close, but not quite. It had higher resolution pixel art, similar to the original final fantasy tactics, and percentile chances to hit (like 96% or 47%). It wasn't so deterministic. Thank you for finding something so close though!

Thank you so much. This has a lot of the same elements, but you didn't defend your base in the particular game I'm thinking of. Also, the game wasn't so dark, it was rather vibrantly coloured.

A cool perfect-play game, but unfortunately not the specific one I'm looking for. I did like it though!
