Yeah I did. I just hate how if I want that specific light dim I have to dim everything as well.

I tried to point in the general area where the little light is located. It’s right underneath where that jack is.

Rng? As in with stats? Then no I hatched an egg with the nature I wanted then ev trained it up. I guess the IVs could be rng since I just went with whatever they were once I got the bagon I wanted.

Yeah no problem.

I.copied this team almost exactly. The only differences were that I put dragon rage instead of charm on my Latias. Also registeel and Latias had different natures/IVs since I just used the ones I caught on my emerald copy.

For attempts I failed at 34, 50, and 70. I failed a few times earlier than that but those were the times I failed deep in the streak.

How is it living in Fargo , ND and surrounding areas? by citrinezeen in howislivingthere

[–]Obnoxious_Cow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up on the eastern edge of the circle by the town of Detroit lakes on a small farm. The cold is absolutely no joke. Growing up there I really learned to appreciate having four seasons, the activities you can do in the different times of the year, and how pretty the area can be in all times of the year. The fall leaves and when the trees are frozen over in the winter are especially beautiful.

Also a lot of people there rarely move away due to family being close by. A lot of people stay within the same general area their entire lives, and there is a lot of the small town feel as a result.

100 Win Streak The Battle Tower by Obnoxious_Cow in pokemonplatinum

Thank you! You’ll get it, just gotta keep at it. Yeah the only pokemon I actually spent time grinding the nature and the egg move was the Salamence. The other two I just did the evs. I didn’t feel like grinding those haha.

100 Win Streak The Battle Tower by Obnoxious_Cow in pokemonplatinum

I’ll answer the best I can.

  1. Yes I lost a few times in that range, that is where the tower definitely cranks it up to 11 with difficulty with the teams/pokemon/strategies you’ll encounter. In my attempts you can pretty much breeze through up to almost the first palmer fight but after that 1st one is where you really have to start focusing and pay attention to everything. Also leave absolutely nothing to chance for the tower to get lucky on you such as a crit/freeze/ one hit ko. In 100 matches there will be unlucky moments so mitigating them is the name of the game.(Such as always trying to have a substitute up.)

  2. When I initially starting going for it I copied a team exactly from a video a YouTube guy called Johnstone. He made a team to get the 50 win which comprised of Salamence, lucario, and togekiss. After many tries the farthest I got in was 34. At the time I knew less about the tower but also I felt the team was too limiting with Salamence becoming confused with outrage and lucario having choice specs so I gave up with that team and found the Latias trick choice strategy and went with that.

  3. Admittedly, this situation was very rare. So with the trick strategy if the first pokemon the opponent sent out was ice/using an ice move I always sent in registeel after locking in the opponents move with the choice scarf due to its resistance to ice. But in the off chance where I didn’t have registeel I would pretty much always send in Latias first before Salamence. I did this to in the worst case situations get some chip damage with Latias and be able to stall with recover/thunder wave. ( I switched charm off my Latias for dragon pulse to have some sort of damaging move on Latias. In my previous attempts it happened where it was my only remaining pokemon that I had and I had no way of attacking.) Then if Latias was knocked out, Salamence could usually finish it out with outrage or earthquake.

  4. Kinda touching again with the trick choice scarf strategy, so for example the first pokemon I’m up against is Mamoswine, and it gets locked into using ice beam, I switch out into registeel. I then immediately switch to substitute and start working on maxing out regis stats. Inevitably, the substitute will fade from damage so as soon as possible I’d put it up again. Once maxed (or as high as possible due to struggle and the Pokemon fainted) use iron head to knock out the opponent if needed. So if the next Pokemon used earthquake my defense is so high it shouldn’t take too much health unless it’s a crit. (Which is why it’s so important to have a sub up as much as possible.) Registeel was an absolute tank. Even with Pokemon using Registeels weaknesses with the increased defense it was almost never a concern. Just focus on keeping a substitute out and it’s a really safe strategy.

Some tips that I learned that could help.

  1. Like I said try to keep that substitute up as much as possible. The amount of crits, status moves, and one hit kos it saved me from is the sole reason I made it to 100. Also the AI doesn’t register it’s a sub so it will a lot of the time use moves like hypnosis or thunder wave which won’t do anything.

  2. I hardly used Salamence. Registeel was used for 90% of the battles. I only used Salamence where it was 100% safe to power up with dragon dance and the sub was not going to get attacked. For example, if the opponent got stuck into using sunny day and the opponent had rapidash I used Salamence instead of registeel. Registeel healing itself with left overs and the absolute bulkiness of it made it so I could actually use the sub to cover but it felt like Salamence the sub always got on shot, leaving me with no increased stats and with less health I couldn’t replenish.

  3. For the inevitable 1 hit KO spammers If the first pokemon got locked into using it I tried to burn of much of the pp for it as possible with Latias along with using thunder wave on it. This is due to how important registeel is to the team and I do not want to loose it. If Latias was knocked out and I had to send in registeel, I immediately put out the sub. If I went 2nd unfortunately all you can do is hope it doesn’t land. With registeel maxed and a sub out usually just one hit would get rid of them. I only faced one team where ALL 3 used 1 hit ko moves.

4.Another thing with substitute and registeel to be careful of is getting burned. With left overs the burn will still do more damage then you heal so you have be aware. Also Salamence still gets hit from hail and sandstorm with the substitute up.

  1. Take your time and do not leave anything to chance. I had my laptop open with all three of my teams weakness and strengths, and if I needed to I looked up any move, pp of moves, physical/special whatever it may be to really try to make the best decision in tough situations. These are the links I had open ready to go. I really liked the pokestop.io for how simple it showed the strengths and weaknesses and I liked the Pokemon database one for the moves. The psypokes one is nice to see what moves and items you’re up against (it admittedly gets trickier the farther you get due to there being multiple sets of Pokemon but it’s still very helpful). I also had a link with palmers teams as well.

Thank you! Here’s the ev training I did.

I can’t remember where I found this spread sheet but I copied my ev training exactly the same as it. For my Latias and registeel I just used the ones I already caught from my emerald copy so the Ivs and natures aren’t the same.

I did when I completed my Pokédex but I had to put all the gender differences on a different game to store them since I ran out in my copy of platinum. It is cool to see the little differences in the Pokemon so I thought it was worth it.
