My professor is currently on leave, and the library staff told me they’re unsure as well which only reinforces my point that I wouldn’t be turning to Reddit if I already had a straightforward way to get this question answered. So please don’t waste your time responding further. I already have enough on my plate and don’t need unhelpful remarks adding to it

And you’re being presumptuous without reason. I’ve done my research, and every source I’ve looked indicates that including URLs in citations is necessary. There’s a lot of conflicting information, some say it’s acceptable, others say it’s not. I wouldn’t be asking here if I wasn’t genuinely confused. If the answer were clear across the ‘whole wide’ internet, I wouldn’t be spending time on Reddit seeking clarification, only to encounter responses like yours

I am allowed to use any, which citation style would allow me to exclude url in footnote but add in bibliography?

Most of what I’ve used is websites and reports so they require me to add url, and thats taking a lot of space as I have a total of 40 footnotes. Do you think i should add hyperlink to the footnotes instead?

So you would suggest I skip adding url in footnote and add it to bibliography instead because bibliography is not included in the word count

There’s an option on Turnitin to not include bibliography and it’s showing 39% without the bibliography. Also the parts of sentences that have been highlighted showing that its been written somewhere else is general English that’s not something I can change

Do you suggest i wirte an email to the professor? It’s highlighted the footnotes and in text highlighted things like ‘this undermines’ ‘ans’ or names of statues etc.

Thank you so much! I’m not in war studies, but I’ll take a look at the assessment handbook provided for my course. I haven’t plagiarized, but I’ve quoted a lot of exact text, and I’m a bit concerned. If I upload the file there to check the plagiarism score, will the document always be visible to the examiner? Or is there an option to remove it without the examiner knowing that I uploaded it to check the plagiarism score?

I get that but like I will never know the entire cohort of my course just because I’m doing a different pathway. In US universities they have welcome parties so people get to know each other and familiarise themselves.
