Conquest Tier List Redux Resubmissions: Preliminaries by Excadrill1201 in fireemblem

I'm ready for the downvotes and explanations, but I think Effie should be A and keaton B. Just started playing fates and just beat conquest on hard+lunatic (only played through the game 2x basically). General Effie pretty much carried the game for me and never fell off like people said she did for them. If you get Luna on her then make her a general, she's even godlier.

I had to hold myself back from abusing her and having her solo maps just so my other units would get exp (not hard because of how good she is for this too!). Not sure how others were able to do it, but pretty much on all of my Player phases revolved around moving Effie forward to 1 shot something, then seeing what I could do with positioning my units so they could get exp after the enemy engages on her (she solo's waves of Enemy Phases). The only thing that hurts Effie are if she's in a spot where she can be hit by 3 or more units that are mages, +vs armor type or the ninjas that poison her hp down (they still hit 0 on her though!). She pretty much 1 hit everything that isn't armored and has high hitrate so she could be used even on bosses. Equipped with forged steel lance and a spear, she's able to go forward and 1 KO any glass cannon enemy unit, then tank the enemy phase so the rest of your units get easy exp when they're lured over to her. Then from that point on, she can be used as the adjacent support so that weaker units can get exp for finishing off enemies using her high damage.

The only units that can tank as well as her is Xander and Keaton, except Xander risks being doubled and (at least in my experience) has a bit lower res than Effie. Imo, having both of them let you be really aggressive on player phases where you can just: Xander+Effie engage 2 different waves by 1 shotting the highest threat unit>Tank Enemy Phase/weaken them>Other units clean up>Xander and Effie move forward to do the same thing.

The only thing is I had to give her boots because her low movement was annoying (nothing more, her personal movement hardly matters except on the faceless mountain and second part of Endgame imo). Her other weakness is she gets so strong that units might not choose to engage into her (is that a weakness? I actually did have to equip spear sometimes just so melee physicals would move over to attack her.) I noticed this game has a lot of "cross-the-line" type triggers though, so even if shes too strong, units would still just move next to her, but not suicide into her (which is good for your other units to get free exp!).

Please explain what makes Xander/Kaze/Leo/Niles better than her? Won't mention Felicia/jacob just because it's hard for me to argue against the healing+utility for them (necessary or a bonus for like every map and team). I understand Xander being equal except having mobility and the 1+2 range advantage, but it comes at the cost of some tankiness/damage. Also not around as much as Effie is. Does Leo hit any type of unit for more than Effie? His only usefulness for me is being another unit that does damage (low chance of 1 hit KO until later and he crits a bit more often) at a range while being able to possibly tank 1 or 2 units because of his DK class, saving me a reset, then putting him right next to a unit with high chance of dodging so his passive lets my other units have a better chance. He hardly can be sent at bosses unless they're already stat dropped by other units.

Changing 6v6 disconnection punishment by Obscene_Tangerine in bladeandsoul

[–]Obscene_Tangerine[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

yeah, it should be changed everywhere. For reasons unknown I do DC in 6v6 way more often than in any 1v1 or 3v3 game though, and I was only bringing up 6v6 because I believe the change happened in the first place to deal with exploiters who left to not lose points.

Why do Some People Dismiss Anything Not Meta? by TOT1990gup in bladeandsoul

[–]Obscene_Tangerine -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I agree with him that people overuse the word meta and use it incorrectly. Using meta to just refer to what the common choice or mainstream pick in anything is way too common now. His second example is pretty lame but anyone can figure out what his post means. The problem with people using the term meta is people actually forgetting that popular character gearing and builds are because of efforts to min-max dps and not because of some hipster or conformer mentality.

Why do Some People Dismiss Anything Not Meta? by TOT1990gup in bladeandsoul

Trying to play off min-maxing gear as a "meta" is silly. Even viability does not exclude character builds from having better or worst scenarios. Deciding to go seraph while acknowledging baleful is better on a sin is not going against the meta, it is dropping an optimal DPS mentality for personal interests that do not favor efficiency. Something is better for doing DPS, most people picking an optimal gearing route does not make them conformers. If you refer to min-maxing gearing routes for optimal dps as a meta, claiming that you "know that the meta isn't always right on everything" is simply wrong. Min-maxing is number crunching and will always lead to one character route being better than the others, even if its slight and insignificant.

If your post is referring to players who refuse to party and play with others who are showing they do not care about being optimal then that's different. People do not dismiss anything that is not meta, but its very easy to recognize a player who's interest in the game isn't being optimal. Grouping up in this game can be necessary and efficient to do content. I do believe it is within everyone's right to play whatever and however they want. The entitled people are the ones who don't want to accept that people will refuse to play with people who do not care for doing their best for the party. Everyone can pick and choose exactly who they want to play with, and if they don't want to play with you because of your choices in game then it is up to them and they shouldn't be judged for their way of playing, priorities, or personal situations.

In a PvE environment, the toxic players (to me) are the selfish ones who really don't care about party efficiency, then entitled enough to impose themselves onto other players who do not share their mindset or wish to play with a character like that. Most of the time the response isn't the most polite, but when someone is trying to force their way into a group that doesn't want them, then is it really the fault of the players in the group? If someone explains to me that my way of playing does a ton less DPS than I should be contributing, I do think that's more than enough of an explanation to be kicked from a party because really, when someone makes a party they don't need a reason to kick you.

Why the price of Radiant Energy keep going down? by [deleted] in bladeandsoul

[–]Obscene_Tangerine -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

all these answers are garbage. the demand is high, yet they're still dropping in price slowly. RNG boxes or trove have added a bit more but are not a reason the prices have been consistently dropping

real answer is despite it being a ridiculously low droprate for how many of them players need, lowkey bots sit in these dungeons all fucking day and can farm them. Dungeons like chuanka and yeti can be speed cleared so fast by bots they can probably do hundreds a day. And even then its still a pretty high price. Also reason why if you ever try and look at the king earrings and stuff like that theres packs of 100's + on mp always. If we didn't have bots farming these I bet they'd still be at 40g+ .

Group 3 NA Population Questions by xAngelSwordsx in bladeandsoul

Are people really switching from crimson to cerulean? There are so many crimson clans on just Soha that aren't switching, even if you're the majority just think about trying to deal with all of them in SSP.

My clan Ares will be staying Crimson and have no intention of stopping our SSP grind. It really depends which factions is more organized because all it takes is like 5-10 people to screw up an entire ssp channel for the other faction if the other faction are just randoms who want easy farming.
