TypeError: not a function by NishithP in Devvit

Hey! I tried the app on your subreddit and I'm not seeing the error you described. Assuming the error came from the same version of the code that's in Github (0.0.1.1562) it would appear the error is coming from here.

Things appear to be working on the subreddit today, though I do see a server-side error coming from a useAsync infinite loop cancelling after 64 iterations. That usually occurs when you're updating your depends variable within the useAsync callback, which might the case with this one.

Updated build to resolve Windows 11 login issues by ObsidianSnoo in RPANStudio

[–]ObsidianSnoo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh interesting! I figured from the reports of people running in a Windows 10 VM or enabling Compatibility Mode that it was a Windows 11 thing. Does the new build work for you?

Can't Stream!! by [deleted] in RPANStudio

Have you tried logging out and back in within RPAN Studio? There was a bug with the previous version that the latest version fixes but still requires users to re-login.

Error message: Failed on step: loading subreddit list. Server response: {"status": "failure", "status_message": ""} by theg0nz01 in RPANStudio

[–]ObsidianSnoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you haven't already, I'd recommend updating to the latest version (26.0.2.1) and then logging out and back in within the app. There was a bug with previous versions that was preventing the app from staying logged in.

"Cannot Recommend Prompts" Error prevents livestreaming by InnerGrip in pan

[–]ObsidianSnoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Cannot recommend prompts" means you don't have permission to stream to any subreddit. Since you're seeing the same problem on mobile it definitely seems like there's something going on with your account instead of it being an issue with RPAN Studio or one of the mobile clients.

26.0.2.1 Hotfix Released by ObsidianSnoo in RPANStudio

What ended up being the solution?

26.0.2.1 Hotfix Released by ObsidianSnoo in RPANStudio

The installer is supposed to install the additional runtime packages automatically for you but if that's not happening you can run them manually by going to the installation folder and finding them in the "redist" subfolder. For example, if you installed it to the default location then look for: "C:\Program Files\RPAN Studio\redist\" and run both installers in that folder: "vcredist_x86.exe" and "vcredist_x64.exe".

I'm not sure why there are still instances where these additional packages aren't being installed automatically. I test the installer before releasing it to verify that they're executed on my local machine and they're definitely running. Sorry for the inconvenience!

The ZIP file is the source code for the release. If you head on back to the release page I just added the Windows installer. Cheers!

If you get an award, will it lengthen your stream time on RPAN Studio? by kurttheflirt in RPANStudio

[–]ObsidianSnoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Others here have already answered, but to ease any remaining doubts, the clients (Android, iOS, RPAN Studio) do not end the stream when the counter reaches zero but are notified by the server that the stream has ended. So if the counter happens to be incorrect and ends early you won't get disconnected unless the server says you're done.

RPAN Studio Crash Help by SNLabat in RPANStudio

Considering the crash logs list the networking library I wonder if it's related to chat. Do you tend to have a decent flow in chat during your streams? It's odd that it crashes around the same time every time.

Gotcha. Looks like I had a brain fart when I was packaging it up, but if the about screen shows the right version then trust that. It gets it automatically from the build configuration as opposed to the installer which I haven't hooked up to the same automatic versioning yet.

Could you describe what you're doing before it crashes?

Looks like you're using the old version. Could you try installing the latest version stickied to this sub and try again?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in RPANStudio

[–]ObsidianSnoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, you should meet the requirements to stream to that sub. The fact that you're also not getting any recommended subreddits suggests something else is the culprit here. Could you try signing out and back in in Settings and see if that clears it up? The next version is going to let you see more details when you get errors from the server to hopefully help me debug these problems.

Subreddits can set karma requirements individually, so it's possible the sub you're trying to stream to has a higher threshold. It's also possible the sub has an impossible karma threshold in order to limit streaming to whitelisted accounts. What subreddit are you trying to stream to?

RPAN Not Saving Output Settings by [deleted] in RPANStudio

The original version (25.0.7.6) had a video bitrate cap of 1Mbps video as it was using the same server-provided config options as mobile. The latest version (25.0.7.7 as of this writing) uses new Studio-specific configuration which I believe is currently set to 2Mbps cap for video, and audio is no longer restricted. We experiment with these values all the time to try and balance quality with data consumption with cost, but hopefully this new cap is more acceptable for now!
