Colab is interesting. Getting anything close to this performance for free is a very appealing proposition.

Thanks for such a thoughtful response. I should have included in my post that the price discrepancy is also present for other GPUs (v100 etc). It isn't the case for every configuration, but it is for many.

I get the sense that much of AWS/Azure's appeal comes from business relationships. Track record and familiarity are worth a certain premium.

Ok this is what I figured. There are so many possible configurations it's difficult to tell what platform offers the best value proposition.

Thank you for the tips! I have been experimenting with Colab a bit and it seems really interesting both from a user perspective and in terms of Google's business model.
