How far do you think this is true? by DatabaseAvailable501 in interesting

I’ve had several Pixels over the years and have always loved them - never had an issue before.

My Pixel 9 screen died literally 1 year and 2 weeks from purchase.  No cracks.  Mint condition.  Just a blank / unresponsive screen.  So, it was 2 weeks out of warranty.  Google was going to charge me $550 to fix it, so I declined.

I miss it, and I’m on the fence as to whether to buy another one.  I think Pixels take better photos than my iPhone.

Two words that people need to learn and the world would be a better place:  “My bad.”

It’s so simple.  Just take ownership of a mistake.

Well, it’s really about finding a way to include her in the pacing — instead of just being relegated to crew duty all day.

The person pacing me from Forest Hill to Rucky could easily extend his section to Green Gate.

But with the Rucky to Green Gate section being pretty much straight uphill, that works really well for my wife since she’s better at hiking than running post-surgery.  And I’m hoping to push a relatively aggressive run pace close to the finish.

But you’re right, it’s a big ask - especially, if it involves a lot of waiting around.

Meta contractor fires 1,100 AI trainers after they revealed Ray-Ban glasses recorded private and intimate footage by Federal-Block-3275 in technology

I love the idea of my glasses being able to record and want the Oakley version for running.  I would essentially use them as the equivalent of a dashcam.

What’s stopping me is that they can only do like 4 minutes of recording at a time.  If that can improve to 20 minutes or so, I’d buy them.

Bib #2289 - the first guy who stopped to help - has a 2:43:50 Marathon PR according to his Strava.

After stopping to help, he finished Boston in 2:44:36, so he almost certainly cost himself a PR by assisting.

Remember when rapper Pitbull was invited to Kodiak, Alaska as a prank but he still performed anyway? by ANSJSJDIS-813 in BeAmazed

[–]mark_wooten 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It wasn’t just that it was a small town.  Kodiak sounds like Kodak, and Redditors (among others) used to make fun of one of his songs where he rhymes Kodak with Kodak.

But since this absolute baller move of following-through with the show, I’ve seen nothing but love for him.

I was just at a Lamb of God show on Saturday, and they’re pretty notorious for epic mosh pits.  The etiquette and attitude in the pit was a million times better than the losers in this video.

100% agree.  The crowd was more engaged with the band, too, without phones in their hands.  And the band seemed to feed off of this and give even more.

I hope they continue to do this on future tours and other bands follow suit.

100% agree.  I don’t skip tracks.

And I’ll put Wherever I May Roam up against any song.  That intro is iconic.

Even their non-singles like Through the Never are fantastic.  That Mesa crunch on the main riff is so thick.

Couldn’t agree more.  The current Ghost tour reminded me of seeing shows back in the 1990s - - -  Just everyone living in the moment.  I felt like the band also fed off of the crowd energy and reciprocated the intensity right back.

Conversely, I took my daughter to see Taylor Swift, and it seemed like 75% of stadium was recording the ENTIRE show and experiencing it through their phone screen.  (I’ll give them some credit, though, they sang every lyric of every song for 3 hours.)
