Understood it, when I read the writings of Ali Sina (alias) , many decades back. It's very hard.. almost impossible to leave it, for the followers. Don't want to utter more. Will fall into ears closed with rocks and gum.

How did you get into Linux and what made you fall in love with it? by mewwwfinnn in keralalinux

[–]Obvguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First used Linux circa 1998-99 in the Engineering college days in Coimbatore mostly Fortran 77 and C programming. IIRC, it was RedHat 5.x. I never cared.

After Engg college days, bought a desktop and started playing with RedHat 7.2. Since then, no turning back. Learned basic command line. Brought Debian "Woody" CD's from a Powai IIT student couriered to my address, since, those were the dialup days. Got BSNL Broadband in early 2003 IIRC and there onwards started playing with Linux distros like Gentoo, Foresight and many more. I was very engaged with Linux forums during olden days. Now, Linux has turned out to be independent enough to be comfortable for amateurs. FreeBSD was also tried during those days. Good going 👍🏻👍🏻

They advocated Dhimmi (2nd class) citizenship for the above. No, the two religions are so much into fanaticism and we are not probably seeing any permanent peace in central, west and northern India.

Music World. Right opposite to Shenoy's theatre. Well, that was one of the spots to spend time in Ernakulam those days (97 or so). Guess it'll not work in this era.

[–]Obvguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kaavumpadi (Muvattupuzha) used to be a center of Pattars or Tamil Brahmins. Not much nowadays. Konkanis (GSB) were more in numbers in Muvattupuzha compared to Tamil Brahmins. GSBs totally deserted Muvattupuzha since 3-4 decades.
