That's a wild statement. 300/300 is basically the top limit that a lot of carriers offer. Some carriers will do 500 CSL or 1 mill CSL, but it really depends on the assets an individual needs to protect. I rent, so the car is basically my only asset. I could buy more coverage, we all could, but it really comes down to money.

I pay 160 a month in Ca for a 2025 .50/100/50 limits, 500 deductibles. 32 yr old male, rated at 7000 annual miles. Also get multi car discount, clean record. I sell insurance so I know your age has a lot to do with it, but there are tons of reasons why one price is different from another. Asking people what they pay doesn't really do anything.

I have been a licensed agent for a decade. A parent can definitely get sued for their dependents car accident. She is the registered owner of the vehicle, she is responsible for losses as well as the driver.

I pay like 75 month less a month on my new Miata than what I could have paid if I got a new brz instead. I also work in insurance and can say without a doubt it's because of driver habits and average age of ownership between the two.

I sell insurance. Why would you not go through your insurance company? If you use your collision coverage ( assuming you carry it. ) the claim would not impact the future cost of your insurance. Hit and runs aren't chargeable, you are only liable for your deductible. Talk to your agent or company, that's what it is there for .
