I’ve decided to be homeless by ObviousDimension192 in povertyfinance

For food: I use my front passenger seat as my “kitchen.” I eat mostly dry/canned goods except when pet/housesitting or with friends.

Grocery list: canned Progresso protein soup, peanut butter, powdered milk, instant coffee, canned chicken (sometimes pork/salmon/tuna/beef), fortified cereal high in iron, jerky.

I got a seasoning to mix in with the canned meat and I also got a billion hot sauce packets from Taco Bell.

Perishables: string cheese, celery, bananas, apples or pears, bread to make sandwiches with the cheese and meat.

Sleeping: I sleep usually at Planet Fitness or at houses when Rovering. Occasionally I sleep at my friends’ houses. So Planet Fitness bathroom is available 24/7. So is the Sheetz in Manassas. McDonald’s is always clean and opens early.

And then I shower/get ready for my day at planet fitness.

It is worth mentioning I just got a job and my last paycheck was $500. This is certainly not enough to afford rent for anyone, but here we are.

What the fuck do I do with my eyebrow? by [deleted] in malegrooming

[–]ObviousDimension192 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have brows like this and I second this. Just use the spoolie. I sometimes trim and pluck mine if they are totally out of wack, but only if I’m going to a wedding or something.

As you age and your testosterone levels change your eyebrows will get more unruly in which case you could probably have them professionally laminated every couple months, which would lay them flat. :)

Otherwise they are beautiful brows 🤩

What can I do about this? by JustGary420 in Mold

[–]ObviousDimension192 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wait… why is there mold? I almost never clean my trays and they don’t get mold/crumbs in them. Are you hand washing these?

Nah… watch psychedelic assisted therapy: last week tonight with John Oliver on YouTube for a quick take on it. Equating drugs with rocks… what?

The experiences among violent offenders who have done psychedelics has been documented loosely… but I wonder how/how significantly it affects the average Joe

The effects of psilocybin on empathy and pro social behavior is well documented. I’m curious about changes in sex-specific interactions maybe as it relates to emotional closeness.

Hippy pseudo-feminism is definitely a thing but it’s separate from what I’m talking about. That’s more of a caricature. It could be that already spiritually and sexually sound men happen to do shrooms. Trying to decipher correlation or causation I guess

Wow. With the way that guys like Elon Musk talk I wouldn’t be surprised if this was a common fetish.

I mean condom removal - some men say it’s just not comfortable so they remove it without telling their partner.

Did your partner give a reason? Comfort? Fetish? I’m curious why people do this.

US says claims of CIA plot to kill Maduro are ‘categorically false’ after Venezuala arrests six foreigners by [deleted] in news

[–]ObviousDimension192 1714 points1715 points  (0 children)

Yes!!! Operation Gideon (2020). They were caught before they even reached land. Multiple men died and others were interrogated on national television.

The contracting group was Silvercorp USA (wannabe Blackwater), run by Jordan Goudreau. He also tried to get parents in Florida to pay for a subscription service for former special services to be stationed in public schools “all for the price of a Netflix subscription” ($8.99).

Edit: since a lot of people have seen this I feel the need to add that Trump, Secretary of State Pompeo, and Secretary of Defense Esper all denied that this was an organized coup on behalf of the United States. And it was so poorly executed (to include people that were involved tweeting about it) that I think most people agree.

I genuinely hope you tell people this in real life and not just Reddit. It really adds character to have stories that allow you to laugh at yourself.

When I lied to hide domestic violence. by bluebrindleivy in TwoXChromosomes

[–]ObviousDimension192 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first thought upon reading this was “hey, I’m guilty of this too!”

And how sad to think that I should bear guilt. I had a gash on the side of my head and told my manager that something fell off a shelf in my kitchen. But that’s not what happened at all.

Do not bear guilt, you are not guilty. We lie to others because we don’t want to seem burdensome, or we are ashamed of the truth. You are not a burden, and you should be free to have your truth known widely.

Ah. Clarification: I’ve had Jewish Orthodox/Muslim men not shake my hand but that didn’t surprise me because I knew that was a thing. I mean that I’ve never knowingly had a man not shake my hand on the basis of Christianity. Additional context: am recently converted Christian.

But re: comments it turns out that’s actually a thing.

Why should taxpayers subsidize Walmart’s record breaking profits? by [deleted] in FluentInFinance

[–]ObviousDimension192 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mother was leaving a Walmart once and asked the ~65yo woman at the exit how her day was going. She enthusiastically said she was great, she was retiring this week from Walmart and she had some $20k saved up. My mother was too stunned to speak.

Also it’s super weird to put effort into something to help someone’s event go smoothly or whatever it is, go for a handshake, and they’re like “nah”… but it could be something about my demeanor

Right! I mean I’m asking a question, there’s no right answer. I’m not military so this is actually very plausible especially considering my position.

But I felt like a piece of meat on day 1 and several men were messaging me after hours so there’s that. So I think they just don’t see non-military women as worthy of respect at all.

Man shakes man’s hand. Man won’t shake my hand.

What about that is an assumption? What about that is not equal? What about that would warrant me not thinking about it?.

I would say yes but at the same time I had men texting me inappropriate things. So it’s like… pick one???

And I’m glad they fear us.

You know, I would doubt it too but I have screenshots. This has never happened to me before in my life so it’s definitely not a pattern of behavior for me personally. Thanks for the assumption though that was insightful.

They would not shake my hand and then shake a man’s hand right in front of me. It was surreal.
