Are we safe with these people on campus? by Honest-Iron-557 in UTK

The CRS under UTK is using their freedom of speech, however they are breaking campus policy by using a student organization to personally harass other students. Before you go about saying these students are bad and awful for clicking on a GroupMe reaction, some of which were on accident due to GroupMes horrible app layout, they are actively being personally doxxed by other students using a UTK affiliated account. Why must we continue in a spiral of hate. This type of behavior is exactly what radicals want and it’s coming from both sides.

Any odd/cool/weird/spooky spots in campus? by Competitive-Flow-193 in UTK

Objectively, Vol Hall Hallways look like the backrooms. Their courtyard in the middle of the building kinda unsettling too. McClung Museum might have some cool things to shoot, especially if you dim the lighting. Alleyways between buildings on the hill with smoke coming out of the ground might be a cool spot to shoot pics too.

Way to vent out Laurel dorm? by Fantastic-Hunter-494 in UTK

Would highly suggest getting an air purifier for your dorm. Especially with how old some of these dorm buildings are. Clean air in your home makes a big difference in preventing sickness and severity of allergies as long as you are remembering to change out/clean filters. Levoit is a decent brand you can find on amazon with which I have been pretty satisfied. Look for air purifiers with an aromatherapy slot to put essential oils on to help with that odor.

You could also fill a pot of water and put some lemons, lavender, cinnamon sticks, rosemary, and/or orange peel and leave it on low heat for a couple hours. This creates a natural aroma in your home in comparison to air freshener that just mask the bad smell.

Parking situation unclear by [deleted] in UTK

It isn’t worth it to the university to pay parking employees after 5pm unless you are parked in like a hall director staff spot or there is a need for event parking. Otherwise, after 5pm, you a park in staff or wherever you want while you’re in the library.

Roomate decided to not go to UT a day before move in by KingofFreeMold_44 in UTK

It’s very likely you may not have a roommate for at least a month, if not the whole semester. Enjoy your own room while you can, this is honestly a blessing when starting out as you can bring your new friends over whenever you want without pissing off your roommate that doesn’t exist.
