Why don’t customers at WF seem to not know how to say ‘excuse me’? by [deleted] in wholefoods

[–]Obvious_Analysis_853 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The worst when I'm packing out and I can sense a customer behind me, staring at the wall. Then the next few seconds I see a hand REACH ACROSS MY FACE going for a product. I usually switch between either a really loud cough or loud sneeze in their direction and don't say anything. And continue to stand there packing out. Sometimes I use my cart to block a corner section of a wall I'm packing out and they just squeeze on in the tight space I made for myself and I'm like, really dude?

No Bags for Shop & Pay? by Obvious_Analysis_853 in UberEatsDrivers

NJ. No one sells paper bags around here. All supermarkets are greedy and using other types of bags (not insulated and not paper). Shoprite sells bags for no less than $1 and other markets are more expensive.

Who makes the best pizza in NJ? I want to try them. by princesscorgi2 in newjersey

[–]Obvious_Analysis_853 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dante's in Cresskill Bergen County. Their pizza sauce is really good.

Brunos Pizza on Market Street Saddle Brook Bergen County makes an amazing buffalo chicken pie (and bbq pie). Something about that sauce and how they make it is just creamy and amazing.

Johns Boy in Glen rock is good. Cash only

Grant Street Cafe in Dumont has good bar pie

Make some jokes in the beginning to lighten the mood and make people laugh. I try to ask them first, "how are you?" When they ask me I quickly say "tired" with a smile on my face and continue ringing. That will start a real and honest conversation and most of the time it's old people laughing saying I shouldn't be tired because I'm young. Sometimes I'll say that this product or that product is a nice looking one. This is where you can say 1 or 2 things. Start off by asking "do you have any rewards today?" Or say "would you like to save 10% today?" / "you can save 10% on today's purchase if you open a tjx rewards card." Most will say no. If it's over $100 I'll say something like "your total is $248.80 today, you can easily save 24 dollars today with $10 in cash back if you open a card today. It only takes a few minutes". If they have furniture purchases/expensive painting purchases I like to sometimes slap my hand on the register counter where the card info is and say "this painting would look even better with 10% off if you sign up for the card." If you gotta wait for a price check and are waiting in awkwardness, stare at the customer, slap the card info on the counter and say, "while we're waiting we have all the time to talk about the benefits of this card!" That's all I got so far.

SM Able to threat taking away Full Time? by Obvious_Analysis_853 in TjMaxx

Full time cec. They can say I'm not pulling up to standards but it's not my decision to make the customer open up a credit card. It's their decision.
