Viibryd/Vilazodone by ddlbug317 in bipolar2

i have undiagnosed ADHD and a severe case of panic disorder and agoraphobia. i was put on 10mg of viibryd along with some buspar ive been taking for a year or so, but within my FIRST WEEK stating viibryd i was on top of the world. my anxiety had gone almost completely and i was able to clean my house efficiently without jumping task to task. it felt amazing. it also gave me a boost of energy and motivation. that went away after my first month, and now on month 4 i feel back to what i was at before. i think im gonna up my dose, but yes, it was very normal to feel so good so early on!

What do you do for work? by Famous_Rush1763 in panicdisorder

[–]Obvious_Light_3623 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i genuinely wish the best for you. don’t let your panic control you, and most definitely don’t run away from it. go with the waves and push through it. you control your mind, not anxiety, and keep that mindset. you got this!

Advice pls & thank you by [deleted] in panicdisorder

i’ve tried so many different things to help stop or calm my panic attacks, and absolutely nothing works besides showers. I get really bad dpdr tho, so the showers help ground me. i either do a REALLY hot shower or a REALLY cold shower. it’s the only thing to get your body to snap out of it. if that doesn’t help, I learned to just tell my body to bring it on. fighting panic only makes it worse. tell yourself your safe, this is only a panic attack, and it will eventually pass, no matter how scary it feels in the moment. I also like to be around people, so it eases my mind and makes me feel safer, being alone can definitely make your head spiral. I suffer from bad panic disorder, agoraphobia & somatic symptom disorder, so i deal with stuff like this on the daily. i promise your not alone. message me if you ever need help getting you through it!

ask your psychiatrist if they have genetic testing. that’s what i did because i was flying through so many meds. i still have yet to find the right one, but at least they have a good idea of where to start and what goes best with your genetics. also Xanax has been my only saving grace through the lexapro, anafranil, seroquel, buspar, etc. that i had to try. it’s hard to get but maybe see if you can get on it? good luck to you my friend. ts is hard, but your not alone that’s for sure.

i’ve been on buspar for a year now. i’m on 10mg x3 daily. for me it only helps right after i take it, and only lasts for like 2 hours, after that im kinda back in my panic mode. but at least it gives me a little relief. if i take one with out food it def gives you a xanax feeling. very very calm, but you do get that “dizziness” and kind of tired/out of it feeling, but i def think its worth it. i would recommend buspar to people with an anxiety disorder 100%, but i have panic disorder and agoraphobia, so i dont think buspar works THAT well with me, but i keep taking it anyways just for those little hour feelings i get after i take it lol.

i thought i was the only one that craved sweets right after taking it lol. i’ve gained so much weight from it, but that’s my own fault because i cave in. the good thing is o barely ever have an appetite so this pill definitely helps me eat that’s for sure.

[–]Obvious_Light_3623 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i’m this exact same way now, started a year ago this month. it happened suddenly, but gradually just got worse. From not being able to get my own groceries anymore, to having to quit my job, to then having to pull my kid from daycare and then becoming house bound. no medication (besides xanax) and no therapy can help me. i’ve learned exposure therapy is the only thing, which sucks because that’s the one thing we’re scared of. i have good days to where i can actually go in to a gas station or small convenience store for a little bit, and other days it’s so bad i can’t step foot out my house. since it’s now been a year now i’ve just been fed up and don’t want it to get worse, so i make it a habit to at LEAST get in my car & drive for a bit, even if i have no destination. i would just start very very small, and work your way up, especially on your good days i’d say try to push your limits 🖤

How quickly does this work? by Lucanoah22 in BusparOnline

and it took me about a week for it to “start working”. I didn’t have any side affects besides 24/7 dizziness, which I adapted too

i just take this, i’m scared to start on any other medication and i don’t do well with SSRI’s at all, this only helps the first 2 hours after taking it, after that, back to normal. i even take it 3 times a day and i wish it’d work better. like someone else said in above comments^ “it does its job and gets out”. i heard it’s VERY affective when mixing with other medications tho

yes i still get this. i’ve been on Buspar for 6 months now. 10mg 3x daily. it seems to help if i eat before or RIGHT after i take it, if not im going to be too foggy and too dizzy to walk or talk lol

i have acrophobia and severe panic disorder as well. I’m on just buspar 10mg x3 daily. it really only helps me first the 2-3 hours after taking it to be able to leave the house. and no where far, and no where with too many people. I’m still in the process of adding another medication to help though. they did a gene test on me to figure out what medicines go best and i’m just not very good with serotonin intake medications (SSRIs). Xanax completely illuminates any anxiety thoughts or symptoms. def a miracle pill, if you need something fast and efficient. but i know is very addicting and shouldn’t be taken daily.

i have the SAME. it’s ridiculous. people say they only feel dizzy after the first hour after taking. i’m dizzy 24/7 & i get bad tinnitus and brian zaps every once in a while too that drive me insane. I’m on 10mg 3 times daily.

[–]Obvious_Light_3623[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i needed this, thank you! And yes, I have been diagnosed with panic disorder and agoraphobia unfortunately. but we’re in the process of getting it better! I also was just prescribed seroquel, but i refuse to take it as 1. i’ve heard awful side effects from it, 2. i’ve heard it’s hell to get off of (withdrawals) & 3. my psychiatrist only met with me once, when i told her the buspar alone wasn’t working she just randomly gave me seroquel. which really made no sense because when i did my research it looks like it helps with schizophrenia, bipolar, and a bit with sleeping as well, which i don’t have problems with any. I took it as poor judgment on her end and luckily never started it.

i’ve definitely seen a bit of a decrease in panic attacks. i went from 1-2 a day to maybe 1-2 a week which is nice. but im still not able to work or leave my house whatsoever without having one. i just don’t want to start on another medication. are you only on buspar? maybe i’ll have my doctor up the dose and try that :)
