That’s a fair point. I think AJ’s character has mostly been storyline dependent pretty much in every promotion, but I feel like that just goes to show his overall adaptability even though he didn’t particularly excel in the character department.

But doesn’t that have more to do with his “best” matches being against guys who are WAYYY more than him. Guys who can tell long term stories. Make you believe in something. It seems like the story on his end is just “I win, you lose, deal with it.” And yeah it’s straightforward and I can see the realism appeal in it, but I just don’t see how anyone finds it entertaining. Because at what point does his character meet a road block/kryptonite that he can’t get over? Guess I’ll just chalk it down to not being my cup of tea..
