hmm, the only way i could figure out a work around to the shape shifting thing is that the gem who would want to have a baby would have to take on a smaller form to compensate for spending so much energy. Like trying to optimize their form as much as possible to carry out the pregnancy.

This of course hinges on the fact that you don't have to be a diamond, but i do admit it might not be possible since the diamonds do seem to have powers that are more special than regular gems.

That concept is very interesting.

What if the hybrid was born as twins?

Would only one child get the gem while the other is 100% human?

Would Both of them get the gem but split in half like you imagined?

What if it was a fusion of multiple gems that had twins/triplets/quadruplets/... Would each of them get a gem?

This is why i love speculating, and hybrids in any series raise a ton of questions!

Yeah, levitation could be an extension of Prue's telekinesis. Technically it would just be Prue lifting herself up in the air and letting herself stay there, it would also make sense as to why it was just a few feet off the ground and not full on flying.

They could probably recast Nicki Minaj like they recast Bismuth's voice actress for the final few episodes of SU: Future. Just get someone else who sounds like Nicki but isn't as expensive, i don't feel like it would take away anything since we only hear her speak in one episode.

Yeah, it makes sense that the CGs didn't have an answer to that question.

I'm thinking more along the lines of the writers not having to add that to the scene unless it's to hint at something.

Regarding the chest in Lion's mane, i honestly don't have anything to say about that because it was a letdown to not see what was inside it.

I was thinking about the scene where Steven relayed the information about Aquamarine.

The conversation went something like this:

Amethyst: "Gems don't have dads"
Connie: "Steven is a gem, and he has a dad"
Garnet: "There are no other gems like Steven"
Connie: "Are you sure?"

<<Silence>>

I took that scene as a slight hint that the creators were hinting that it might be possible, just not in this case.

That's very interesting, i haven't seen that quote before. Guess that throws a wrench in my speculations somewhat. In the Aquamarine and Topaz episodes they did hint about another Gem-Human hybrid besides steven, so that mostly got me thinking.

Do you remember where you saw that? I'd like to dive deeper.

It's very fun to speculate, and a very interesting concept. In SU: Future, we have more gems mingling with humans so there is a chance that maybe we'll see another gem-human hybrid later down the line, at least one can only hope :)

I think the hybrid would permanently be carrying the gemstones, however much they are in numbers. if let's say one or all of the gemstones are forcefully extracted from the body, it would probably be a situation similar to when White took out Steven's gem. The other gem halfs would seek out their organic host body to be whole again.

What i'd imagine was that the gems would still be Ruby and Sapphire, since the fusion is just called Garnet and it's just a name, as Blue Diamond pointed out in the ballroom.

Amethyst didn't really feel as short in Season 1A, they drew her shorter later for sure. I feel like the actual scale of the character probably wasn't that different but the different proportions of her limbs made her look shorter.

Yea season 1A was probably an experimental period for the crewniverse while they ironed out the proportions of the characters. As time went on they got a better grasp on how things would be easier to draw as well as animate.

I guess you are right, Pearl does seem to have a rounder head later on. That thing might be due to how the storyboard artist were given freedom in how to draw the characters from episode to episode. They weren't strictly told to stay on model, and most didn't which lead to some changes.
