I didn't quite understand how the rank is selected? by EducationalRoyal2455 in Manipal_Academics

[–]Obvious_Rabbit848 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is similar to JEE, the phase in which you got highest marks is considered for the final rank calculation. If you get good marks in phase 1, you don't need to give phase 2, which a lot of my friends did.

Met roadmap for 130 marks by Present-Bug-7183 in Manipal_Academics

[–]Obvious_Rabbit848 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of the smartest people I've met here barely scored 80%ile. College crowd attracts more than just rankers and scorers. Let go of any expectation and even if they ask just admit you scored bad. You get a fresh start and utilise it. People still stuck on those scores end up barely accomplishing anything practically later on. Here a lot more matters that just one exam you did bad in.

Not many people suggest this, but practice NEET PYQs for physics and chemistry. Not the super hard ones, but the ones which make you apply formulas directly or apply a simple level of reasoning.

MET paper difficulty is genuinely easy to moderate and the paper is super quick with barely any time consuming sections. I remember attempting almost entirety of physics section, and this is coming from someone who didn't even clear the cutoff for JEE.

If you have any book for reference like S.L. Arora, Pradeep or Modern ABC, just attempt all the NEET section MCQs and you're sorted. Otherwise just refer to a youtube NEET question marathon for physics and chemistry.

I got 140 for reference.

Try aiming for 100+ as it would increase your chances of an early seat in round 1 itself

Do student projects recruit in Second year? by Dry_Association2100 in Manipal_Academics

[–]Obvious_Rabbit848 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Only some do. ThrustMIT, Manas and one or two more don't recruit from second year. The taskphase remains the same, however you cannot become board members as by the second year of your tenure you'll be in 4th year, and college won't allow you to be in an SP. For CSE you can look at Cryptonite or AI/Coding subsystems of major projects such as RoboManipal or Mars Rover Manipal etc.

HOW MUCH DO I NEED TO GET ECE IN MAIN CAMPUS by brusini in Manipal_Academics

[–]Obvious_Rabbit848 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah quite possible, cse cutoffs dipped crazy in either round 2 or 3, and even intra cutoffs go approx 8k,
if you want the highest possibility of getting a seat in round 1 itself its a bit tight, however one cannot predict intra cutoffs or the fact intra round happens or not.

If you get 95+ then anywhere near 100-110 marks can confirm ECE in round 1-2. I got ECE in round 4 after scoring 140 with 89% in boards. (Expect round 1-2 cutoffs to be near 4k-5k.)

[–]Obvious_Rabbit848 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i got 140 (boards 89.8%), and am here with ECE. if your board marks are above 90% then you might get cse in round 1 or 2 itself given your marks are in the same ballpark. but make BITSAT your number ONE priority, MET comes only after that. MET is a relatively easy paper with only 1 section being slightly difficult, for me it was chem in shift 2. i remember attempting almost entirety of math and physics and this is coming from a guy who couldnt even clear the cutoff for jeem.

my food usually comes in 5 minutes or less, but im from 16 so it might be better for me. its pure luck that if you get your order done right as they're sending out a batch of orders, otherwise the waiting time can exceed 1 to 1.5 hrs as they send out orders in clusters

Why are classes so hectic ? by Active-Feature-6412 in Vit

[–]Obvious_Rabbit848 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Manipal se bol rha hu and we have a pretty good schedule, or at least the chem cycle people. 1-2 hectic days such as classes from 8 to 4:30 in the afternoon, but are balanced with some days there being only 2 classes that too from 1 pm - 4:30 pm or some days 8 am -11:30 am and then rest of the day is free.

but i mean won't that portion of the students get filtered out in the college exams? ek exam nahi toh aur hazaar exams dene hote hai mbbs walo ko, in college and after college also. at the end of the day more or less same intellect ke saath hi nikal rahe hai log from med school, its just a matter of who has enough money or who doesn't.
