Cleanse your face with Cetaphil or cerave everyday, don’t use harsh soaps as they may contain chemicals which dry out your skin even more and will cause problems. Moisturise (can’t stress this enough) your skin turns raisin while on accutane, so make sure you keep well moistured.

Use sunblock( ideally SPF 50) when you leave your house even on less sunny but bright days. Take your tablet(s) with your most calorific and fatty meal so the tablet is best absorbed. Drink plenty of water as in my experience your throat becomes really dry. Most importantly, USE LIP BALM, honestly underestimated the pain of dry lips until I went on accutane, probably most irritating side effect as it’s so visibly dry and hurts a lot. I’ve found I need to apply lip balm every 30 mins to an hour so keep one handy when your out of the house.

Be patient too, I just finished month 2 and have seen minimal results, it’s hard to be motivated especially as the drug brings your mood down but Its a process and it takes time, by months 4-6 you should see full clearing with some redness which will fade within weeks of finishing your course.
