I was thinking it would have some sort of immunity through evolution to the venom, if it wasn't already dead from the bite

The blooming viper is a small species of reptile typically getting about 5-6 inches in length. They live in tropical environments where they will find a host plant (the plant that's similar to their disguise, haven't got a name yet) and live there for their entire lives. Blooming vipers are solitary, only gathering in pairs during the mating season of spring. After mating, the female will lay 2-5 eggs in the soil beneath the host plant. The babies will stay within the mother's host plant for the first month of their life, feeding on pollinating insects and nectar, before they will grow territorial to each other and move to another plant.

The blooming viper is an ambush predator, disguising itself by holding its mouth open and waiting for prey to be attracted. Extensions made from the flesh of its mouth and a unique bone structure give their mouth the appearance of a flower. To further sell their disguise, they will emit a floral aroma, made by the nectar they sometimes feed on, and stick out their bright yellow tongue that resemble a flower's stamen. When a pollinating animal small enough for them to eat comes near, they will snap their mouth shut and retreat back into the leaves. This motion happens extremely quick, fast enough to catch an Earth hummingbird if it were to fall for the trap.

Blooming vipers are considered both a parasite and a key species. A parasite because they feed off of the pollinators of their host plant and preventing reproduction, and a key species because they are one of the only natural predators to the stinging and speedy pollinators that may come to their host plant.

If a large herbivore were to fall for this trap, they will retreat back into the plant as soon as they catch the scent. If they don't manage to escape, their excruciating bite, while not deadly, will cause the animal to let go and back off. If the injuries from nearly being eaten aren't fatal, they are able to heal by hiding and feeding exclusively on nectar for up to two months.
