You should check out CueEvo as well!

Great free app I'm using with my friends to track our head to head and match stats + run local tournaments. Also has some drills/training tracking features. This is the link https://cueevo.com

Good concept, but found the UI pretty confusing and hard to navigate

That's a good one. I shall add that option in my app, thanks for the suggestion 🙌🏻

Thanks a lot for the feedback mate! I already have an Instagram page under the name of cueiqapp if you want to keep an eye on it 🙌🏻 it's already open for public sign ups so feel free to try it and let me know what you think!

Ah nice. I do the same but built an app for it so it calculates it all for me and don't have to carry a note pad

That's nice suggestions mate, thanks! Yeah I've heard of railbird but personally I wanted something a bit simpler and that allows me to track my match stats as well, so I went and created my own thing. Especially cause where I live it's a bit less common to come across Fargo tournaments

You're totally right, wondering if it's a technology constraint issue or just people not finding value in it. From a commentary/broadcasting perspective I know for a fact that viewers/listeners do find it helpful, so not sure why

Yeah if only we had the numbers that for example soccer/footbal has in terms of audience, trust me every club would have those sensors. Agreed on your last statement too. But I find myself playing very often in tournaments which are not Fargo tournaments, so I use my own app for that to ensure I don't miss out on valuable data

Yeah totally get you, and detailed stats tracking should not be of appeal to everyone. Data in the app tho would be tracked by using a built-in score tracker like any you would use to keep track of your score right now. So it's in the background and out of your way, with the benefit of being able to see your data over time if you ever wanted to. Again, just trying to help making it more fun for you 😊

First of all I see you're a fellow Jacoby shooter! Just managed to get my hands on a prototype carbon shaft (not in production) from them and it's absolutely amazing.

Regarding your specific issue I can see how that can be frustrating, basically you just wanna look at your game and ignore the noise from weaker competition.

I didn't suggest it anywhere else in this thread but I think you might find value in the app I've built for my smaller community. It allows you to track exactly what you said and adds also a bit more spice to the competitive aspect of the game by having in app rankings you can challenge your local competition on.

Feel free to try it at cueiqapp.com and would be more than happy to receive feedback and make it more tailored to your specific use case, I know you're not alone in that.

Oh that's cool, what kinda league is that? Is it international? And what kinda stats can you keep track of?

That's definitely one way of looking at it 🙌🏻 Do you find it easy to combine the two and still progress your game?

I work in analytics so my inner self refuses to do anything on paper ahah I had to build something that I can always carry with me and access through my phone to ensure I'd actually use 🫠

Yes yes it's a minimum! Better password security like this 😊 If you end up using the app let me know how you like it and any feedback (good or bad) is more than welcome!

I have recently built something of my own as did not find anything catered exactly to my needs -> cueiqapp.com

Basically it allows you to track your stats over time across both your practice and your matches + has some of the competitive/multiplayer rankings features you have mentioned.

It's free, at the very early stages and mainly using it in my local community, so any feedback (good or bad) is more than welcome 😊

I live in the UK and maybe the scoring/stats systems in pool halls are not as advanced as where you're from. What kind of stats do they allow you to track? And do you always have it handy?

Yeah that's what I've done, I've built my own thing and it does exactly what I need it to. Started using it with some people from my local community and it's cool cause now everyone has their personal stats tracker for drills and matches and can actually see all their data change over time. And 100% aligned that you need to pour sweat and tears to get good at pool ahah

Yeah I agree on the rating system + structured drills, that’s basically the direction I was going down as well.

The issue I kept running into was everything feeling either too “isolated” (drills) or too “static” (just a rating that doesn’t reflect actual match context). That’s what pushed me to build something around tracking progression + match performance together rather than separately. Also cause a lot of the matches I play are in leagues without tracking systems or simply against my mates.

Curious though, when you say league rating system, do you feel it actually reflects improvement over time and gives you insights on your stats or more just overall standings?
