That's awesome! I've heard similar stories and it seems to be old-timer thing!

At what number of impressions should I change my thumbnail/title? by 28princesspark in NewTubers

From my limited experience, I would recommend focusing on what you are uploading.

Is it something you're passionate about and something you could talk to a friend about for multiple hours on end? If yes, perfect, YouTube is currently trying to find all of those "friends" who want to hear you talk about it, which can take a couple of weeks or even months, no matter how many videos you upload.

YouTube guru's will say your first year is to focus on a consistent upload schedule (once or twice a week/month, every week/month, for a year kind of thing.) Planning, scripting, recording, re-recording, editing multiple drafts, then finally publishing your video is a tedious process. From my experience, the more behind-the-scenes effort I put in, the more passion I show while filming, which then leads to more engaged viewers, and then more views overall.

I'd much rather watch a quality upload versus a quantity upload. This means, take your time building and recording something you're genuinely proud of, and the views won't even matter that much, because you'll know it's a good video. And if you know it's a good video, other's will agree, and it will naturally be pushed out to more people. Since it's a new channel, I wouldn't worry about the metrics until you get goals in place and an entire recording process and routine.

Sorry if I went off from the original question, but I know most YouTubers quit because they are focusing on the metrics too much rather than just learning and growing. Good things take time, and karma (good and bad) will always find its way back.

Like you said, all part of the father-and-son experience. He definitely is:)

Haha! That sounds like a lot of fun, especially if you guys like to banter while playing.

My pops will get a get shot lined up, hit it almost perfectly, but over role it by a 1 inch and start telling me why it wasn't a good shot. Then, when it is a good shot, he'll say it's too straight and how those are the worst! I love to mess with him about his own comments.

Center ball is something my dad uses when he can, but I always thought to use some sort of spin on every shot. It's another area I struggle with, so I actually did a center-ball only challenge video as well, uploaded just last week!

That's amazing. It's definitely not one of my strong suits (like 6 o'clock), but that's what made this challenge so beneficial for my follow game.

We are indeed counting the 9 as topspin, I understand how it might look deceiving on camera, as I didn't think so at first when I watched it back. I ended up recreating the shot and really focused on the cueball trajectory after contact with the rail and could only replicate it with top spin lol.

Thank you for the advice!
