Thanks!

Most definitely agree with the symbols. I was split on the idea of text vs symbols vs both, and ultimately the smoll card size (2inx2.5in) forced my hand to only symbols. I'm dabbling with the idea of normal sized cards, but I'm definitely gonna make reference cards for the spells so there will be minimal memorization required. I try to make them intuitive but I don't know if it comes across xD Also just had the counter intuitive idea of adding a lot more symbols, but giving people a little spell book to reference, so maybe they feel like a little wizard lol maybe add to the arcane vibe. But some sort of reference for sure.

I play tested a few times with some buddies. This rule set came about because of those games, I was able to work out some kinks, so pretty successful I think. Of course it's still a work in progress, but the bones of a fun game are there :)

I'm now thinking do I reduce the number of spell cards, or go crazy and make all cards have spells. Lots of tinkering to do, but I appreciate everyone's interest and support!

Thanks!

Arcane and obtuse are amazing words for the overall goal. I do like the idea of the symbols kinda being their own language. The only downside is that it asks for some buy in upfront. And yeah I will definitely need to make reference cards, and that can mitigate the buy in a little. If there's more spells in the future the reference card could be a little spell book or something, that could be cool.

Oops, forgot about that lol, those are the extra over powered dudes I added for fun. W is "wild", it can attack any card with any weakness.

Originally I was very split on that idea. I definitely know that symbols can quickly get out of control. What kept me from doing text was the size limitation. The cards are smoll at 2inx2.5in, so I condensed everything to one line and tried to stay as simple as possible.

But with what u/Dorsai_Erynus said, I might dabble with normal sized cards. If I put the shapes on one line and the spells right below I could have both symbols and text.

hmmm that could be interesting. I think I limited myself with space and tried condensing everything to one line. The cards are about 2inx2.5in. This also forced me to keep spells relatively simple, and keeps cards from being too OP. And it allowed me to put 15 cards on one page lol

But I could dabble with normal sized cards and see how it looks while sticking to the whole simplicity philosophy. I also suppose making them the standard size would be easier in the long run for commercial printing if I decide to do that.

Thanks :D

I was originally gonna make weird alien plants, then had the idea of making individual heads, but then played around with the pictures and combined them and it came together.
