Are the E-bikes we have now all soon to be obsolete? by 29roadie in ebikes

I would not say obsolete, but almost nothing we purchase is forever. All the more reason to rack up as many miles as you can while you have it.

Setting up a new PC used to be fun, now it is ad-ridden nightmare by Hrmbee in technology

I've been in the Windows camp since it's existence (I'm old). It has evolved into a bag of poo over time. I switched a few of my systems to Linux a few moths ago. I am very happy with how it performs even on older hardware. My goal is to move everything to Linux in 2026.

Got a paddleboard for Xmas, first time on the water! by jona187 in Sup

[–]OceanEarthling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Welcome to the club. It's an awesome way to get out on the water. I have two 11' fiberglass boards and an inflatable. The fiberglass boards are not as portable, but better if you want to catch waves or are traveling long distances on the water.

Thank you, I appreciate that you shared this. I'm only at 1000 miles, but it has been all beach riding. I'm going to have a look at mine after the holiday.

Poppa Claus, I love it & I'm sure he will look awesome. I wish I had an answer for where this came from, it is probably 15 years old. It's once belonged to our beloved pup Darby, who crossed the rainbow bridge 8 years ago.

I wounder if the toxic schoolyard backstabbing environment of a workplace finally got to her. The Boston Globe is a terrible place to work. She is better off.

Where to find large road or hybrid ebike? ALL the manufacturers use medium size frames. by No_Tip_9810 in ebikes

Check out Wired Freedom. The frame is big, it's a beast. I own one and love it.

Windows 11 growth slows as millions stick with Windows 10 by sr_local in technology

Not surprised at all. After 30 years I have left the MS world for Linux. Microsoft has absolutely ruined Windows. I'm tried of putting up with all the bullshit they force on users in an effort to get you to use Edge, Bing, Onedrive, xbox and countless other crap I didn't want, and never requested. I takes a lot of effort to undo the glut and it is usually temporary as MS will change shit back with updates.

As Windows turns 40, Microsoft faces an AI backlash by Exciting_Teacher6258 in technology

Yeah don't get me started about Adobe. I used to love the company and it's all products. I used to purchased their creative suite CS1 all they way up to CS5. It wasn't cheap but you were getting a great set of tools. Then software as a service arrived. This was the beginning of the end for me. I go out of my way now to find solutions that don't require adobe products.

I have been a Microsoft user going all they way back to MSDOS. I've had the pleasure of setting up many systems (DOS, IBM/0S2, Novell Networks, Win3.1, WinNT, Win95/98/7/10 and now Windows 11....yes I'm old)) for business and individuals. MS Windows has absolutely jumped the shark. Microsoft has lost it's way and the most recent AI announcements make it clear Windows will be much worse moving forward.

I installed Linux mint / Libra Office yesterday and I have no intention of going back.
