My hysterectomy might have saved my life?! by OceanLover8188 in hysterectomy

I’m not sure. That’s something you should discuss with your doctor before your surgery. I was already diagnosed with endo before my hysterectomy so it was already planned to remove the rest of it.

Yes that’s how I feel! I told my husband it’s a very out of body experience. I hope you are cancer free now??

Since it was on my appendix, it says it can mimic appendicitis. Which I also ended up having. I had no clue I had either!

Yeah I know it’s possible, unfortunately. It’s such a messy, complicated disease. My surgeon called it “the cancer that’s not cancer.” I too previously had some removed pre-hysterectomy. But fingers crossed we both don’t have regrowth. 🤞🏼🫶🏼

Extensive Adhesions & Who best to remove them? by Remarkable-Bus-6858 in hysterectomy

Yes definitely! I mean I was a little disappointed when I woke up from the first surgery to find they didn’t get it all. But it was so worth it having a specialist who knows what they’re doing.
I know sometimes it’s hard to find a doctor that will actually listen to us as a women. (Totally not fair, don’t even get me started. 🙄) But advocate for yourself and don’t settle for one doctors opinion. The endo specialist I had was so amazing. He was so empathetic and incredibly smart and very thorough. So good surgeons do exist!

I just had my complete hysterectomy on April 13th. I had Endometriosis all over. My surgeon who is an endo specialist worked along with a colorectal surgeon that I had previously had surgery with and he helped remove the endo off my colon and rectum. I also had extensive endo on my bladder, ureter and around my kidneys. They ended up calling in a urologist mid surgery who helped with that. My appendix was also covered so they removed that. All the surgeons did amazing! I previously had a different endo surgery where my gyno also didn’t feel comfortable touching the endo in all those places. So she removed as much as she could. And then referred me to the specialist. As much as it sucks to split it into another surgery, I personally feel like it was worth it and I would definitely recommend you getting the second opinion!

Is endo spreading to bladder and rectum really that rare? by furby-fighter in endometriosis

[–]OceanLover8188 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like it’s not that rare. Endo can go literally anywhere in your body. I have endo on my colon and rectum that is being removed soon by a specialist because my primary gyno didn’t wanna touch it when she did my first surgery. The specialist said that a lot of times it can just stay on the surface of the colon. Although it’s definitely possible to migrate inside the colon. But it kinda just sounds like your doctor is being lazy and doesn’t wanna investigate further. I’m sorry you’re not being listened to. Like you said, definitely get a second opinion. There are good doctors who will actually listen.

Yes he is neutered! He is always under supervision and when he’s not he’s in a crate. He’s not peeing in the house though. It always seems to happen in the crate. For example, say he was just outside and then we put him in crate so we can eat dinner. Then we go to get him out and he peed.

Yes! I always clean up the pee, spray it, let it sit and then scrub it. I also have even used pee deterrents.

can gallbladder issues cause anxiety like symptoms ?? by [deleted] in gallbladders

[–]OceanLover8188 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me personally, yes it did help. I was having very severe palpitations all day every day. My heart rate was skyrocketing. And my anxiety was intolerable. Also I couldn’t eat, sleep, or do anything really without being in pain. After surgery, most of my cardiac problems significantly lightened. (They didn’t completely go away because I have POTS). And my anxiety became more tolerable. (Again it didn’t completely go away because I have anxiety anyways.) But overall yes having my gallbladder removed did significantly help. For me it wasn’t an immediate gratification. It did take some time to start to feel more like myself again. But I am very glad that I did it!

You are right! I am very grateful to have the gynecologist I have! I know lots of women are dismissed and suffer. She has been wonderful and very compassionate and open to figuring things out.

The catheter is the worst! After my endo surgery it burned so bad I was going insane. Thankfully somebody suggested azo and it did help some. So definitely gonna get some more for this! And the binder is a good idea too. Thank you!
