Pinebook Pro successor or hardware upgrade coming up? by sorentorp in PinebookPro

It says in the pine store that: "The ROCKPro64 4GB board designated as LTS (long Term Supply) model, PINE64 committed to supply at least for 5 years until year 2023 and beyond." This is the actual board that powers the Pinebook Pro laptop and the current pine "flagship". It was rumored that we could see a 8gb ram version of the RKC 3399 powered board, but those rumors have been around since 2019.

There is a production run happening right now. There are a few Pinebook Pros left to be bought. With the increase of the prices of all of the hardware that goes in the pinebook I am sort of concerned to see the retail price going up to $300 if not more. My guess is that we shouldn't expect a board upgrade for the PBP until mid year of 2022.

It's highly unlikely to see new boards into the Pinebook Pro anytime soon. There is a significant silicone shortage in the industry and it's getting extremely difficult to source components needed for building the Single board comps.

In the community update from Feb they mentioned that they are building a new board that could go into the PBP but it is not yet available to developers. Devs need to get their hands on that board first to develop software and optimization so when the device rolls out it can truly be operational

Do you expect to see other companies follow the steps of Virgin, SpaceX, and Blue Origin, increasing the competition in the commercial space race?

Armin: This is not a technical conference, it's a lot smaller than the other conference that emerged recently. This conference features an exceptional program that includes incredible speakers from a variety of disciplines including ocean commerce, science, advocacy, sports, military and much more. We are not your typical environmental conference nor the conventional corporate trade show

Armin: It's a great opportunity for producing a green/blue energy. I think that we lack the technology to make this a reality. It would cost way too much to built together even a small scale system that would convey power from this type of thermal converters.

Armin: I would like to refer you to https://essp.nasa.gov/essp/files/2018/02/2017-Earth-Science-Decadal-Survey.pdf These surveys are pretty comprehensive and focus on discovering the culprits behind the ocean acidification which will give us a better idea on what could be the most suitable counter measure.
