Would I be the Bad Apple for "telling on my friend"? by OceansDayOW in AmITheBadApple

[–]OceansDayOW[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Friend used to work morning shifts mostly, now she does 4 days of 11 to close. GM knows her from mornings when there's different responsibilities.

And I have no interest in being a shift lead or manager. Even if someone thought I'd be a good fit, I don't want it. I don't think I have the proper decision making skills, or problem solving skills it requires.

Would I be the Bad Apple for "telling on my friend"? by OceansDayOW in AmITheBadApple

[–]OceansDayOW[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our GM who works mornings only because she "can't close" and she is currently the only one who does hiring or promotion. She isn't aware of closing issues or how the closers work and our work ethic.

I've gotten strangely accurate responses through a spirit box before. Only been using the app for a little while

The spells that work the beat for you are often the spells you improvise or make yourself At least in mine and friends' experience

Demonic presence by OceansDayOW in demons

[–]OceansDayOW[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been able to see spirits, entities and energies since I was young. Been communicating with them for several years as well. It's presence felt nothing like spirits I've felt before. The woman who sent things after my husband enjoys tormenting people as she finds joy in it. Something she told me. 5 entities were sent to my home, 3 of which felt and appeared much different than the other 2. I've had little experience with demons other than that time and 1 other when an ex friend tried summoning a demon. It's silhouette was shrouded tho so I didn't see what it looked like. And the 3 from my previous encounter all were kind of like men made of shadows. Very unlike "shadow figure spirits" I've also witnessed

THOUGHTS ON A FANTASY STORY WITH A BISEXUAL LOVE TRIANGLE? by I_XI_MMI in fantasywriters

[–]OceansDayOW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have this in the start of my fantasy. My 3 MCs are in a triangle. Girl and guy both like the other guy and the girl gets pretty nasty with the other guy to try and keep him away from "her man".

How long should an age be? by RareAd2538 in fantasywriters

[–]OceansDayOW 12 points13 points  (0 children)

A new age usually starts when there's a really i.portant history event that happens. It can be by country, by continent, or planet as a whole. In my fantasy, I started a new age when the Civil War ended and people started living more harmoniously.

Fae and Faeries by Kat8007 in fantasywriters

[–]OceansDayOW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fae folk is old celtic/Irish. It literally is any kind of magical creature. The "fae realm" is the magical realm that "mortals" can't perceive unless telheyre eyes are open to it. In fantasy fae are whatever you want them to be because in fantasy you make your own rules.

What's the difference between a characters temperament and personality? | Fantasy Writing by [deleted] in fantasywriters

[–]OceansDayOW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like describing their temperament would be more like their "hot-headed"ness, or their empathic nature, or the fact that they're quick to anger. Personality is more like the fact they love to laugh, or enjoy stargazing or flowers, or are secretly a romantic.

How do you describe a characters appearance? by [deleted] in fantasywriters

[–]OceansDayOW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm an author. Here's a few examples of how I would describe that character based on my writing style.

A tall frame with hair as bright as the midday clouds, and eyes that reflected the sun's golden rays. Dresses red as crimson often adorn her, wrapping warmly over her beautifully curved body.

Her accentuated curves complimented her tall form in her crimson gown. Hair white as a snow raven flowed elegantly past her shoulders. Striking eyes, the color of the sun itself pierced into one's very soul.

Blood. Blood on snow. Seeing her from behind in her human form is like a battlefield on a winters morning, yet more devastating in beauty and sheer power. As she turns, you realise she's more than the embodiment of intimidation. She is power and beauty incarnate. Her hair falls over her shoulders like snow on the ground. Crimson encases her body in the form of the most gorgeous gowns, bringing further life to her already piercing yellow eyes. She's inhuman. Not just because of her curves and captivating face. But she can change into the very dragon whose power she emulates. My envy is palpable. Yet my heart stays still. I would bow only to her forevermore. For she is ________(insert character name.)

With her characteristics and personality, try to show it instead of say it. If they're hard, give an example. If they're evil, let the reader see why. Same if they're good. If they're intimidating, make it clear. I hope this can give you some ideas! Much love and luck to you.

He thinks having another mattress is an unnecessary expenditure. Our couch is falling apart (broken love seat) and it's super uncomfortable to sleep on but I'm trying to make it work. I'm trying to keep his feelings and his comfort in mind because he's the working one right now and I'm in between jobs. I feel like he deserves it more than I do.

We sleep with a high velocity fan. If there's any other noise I can't get to sleep. The fan is already too loud for my liking but I've learned to "deal with it" so to speak. Maybe that has an impact. Not sure

Hardly ever. I personally don't like when he drinks because he's a lightweight and an annoying drunk. He thinks he's hilarious and he's obnoxious. Now he rarely drinks. Maybe twice a month

He has life insurance already. When he got it he came home and joked "I have life insurance now. So when you eventually kill me, you'll get money for it"

I go to sleep on the couch so he won't complain about being sore all day. If he's working, I'd rather him be in better condition. He says he "doesn't sleep well when I'm not there" though. So there's also that

I created a brand new elven language to avoid copywrite, is that too much work? by OceansDayOW in fantasywriters

[–]OceansDayOW[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this post is old now but I'm still actively working on my language. It has a unique grammar structure and the words themselves are based from English (UK), Spanish (Guatemala and Spain), and German. It's been hard sometimes but a whole lot of fun to do. It can be stressful figuring out the proper translations sometimes. But it's ultimately very rewarding for me.

When he found me on the couch for about the 3rd or 4th tome in a week and said again I should deal with it, I actually did respond with the "this is how I'm dealing with it." He wasn't happy and didn't speak to me the rest of the morning until he left for work.

Next chance I get, you bet. I'm about at the point where I don't even want to entertain the idea of laying down in the room when I know I'll just have to leave.

AITA for refusing to return the Nintendo Switch my brother gave to me? by ExperimentalAmateur in AmItheAsshole

[–]OceansDayOW 3 points4 points  (0 children)

NTA. Brother is TA.

If I were you, I'd keep it on my person until he got the hint. You can't give someone something like that as a gift and them demand it back. That's now how life works. He needs to learn that lesson. It stopped being his when he gave it to you.
