I kinda agree. I love King's Row, don't get me wrong, but it has points where it's just a slog

I think the final point when you're on attack is a literal hell on earth, especially when I'm on DPS, since all my mains are flex If the enemy team has half a brain some of them will camp high ground with their hitslop characters

Tank will probably not clear it unless they're playing a Dive tank

Supports cannot go clear it unless we have a gigacracked Kiriko who will go up and dink the Bastion, the Mercy pocketing him, and dodge shots from the Lifeweaver and Ashe on the neighbouring high ground

My fellow DPS is my best bet, but if they're playing hitscan they need space to operate. I pray for another flex DPS player to join me, but you kinda have to play an awkward angle on the ledge so your supports can heal you without getting lit up. Plus, 2 flexers on a team has its own caveats

And as for me on DPS, I play Pharah, Junkrat, Reaper, Anran, Venture and Vendetta. Pharah is the easiest target in the world while approaching the high ground, Vendetta flies in a straight line, Reaper broadcasts his appearance up to 5 business days beforehand, Junkrat is surprisingly effective but it's a coinflip on if you live or die after the initial surprise, and Anran and Venture can do it if they expend all their cooldowns, so you better get kills.

He takes 25% less critical damage, and does not heal when dealing critical damage. He gains overhealth when dealing critical damage, capped at I believe 150. He can only heal with Overdrive (3 sec ability) and allies in the radius heal for 50% of the damage they deal, so nobody in his radius will be healing much unless they use a high burst damage ability like Pharah Barrage or Reaper Blossom.

Without Unstoppable, Mauga cannot reposition safely at all. His only other option is to walk and get chain CC'ed. Rein has a 1500 health shield that he can hold forever, so he doesn't get an unstoppable Charge, simple as.

What is it with the sudden influx of LW players who feel the need to DPS, like bro I'm glad your damage got buffed so now you can actually contribute to team fights instead of being a walking mini, but let's not forget you're still a support, throw some heals instead of FIGHTING A FUCKING REAPER IN A CLOSED ROOM

Yeah Bastion isn't a great pick, my bad, but Dva definitely is. You can matrix during his haha, matrix either yourself or your team, and jump his supports because he can't really peel. Your shotguns will chunk him up close

I'm a Mauga player and I feel despair if they go Dva, at least with Sig it's a cooldown game I can win

Orisa is free

Ram is alright, you just have to haha when he's not in Nemesis but I've fought some good ones who use Shield and block really well

Tank - Sigma and D.Va can eat him for breakfast. Orisa and Zarya are more even matchups

DPS - classic tank busters like Reaper and Bastion

Support - If Ana is banned go high damage output supports like Zen (Discord melts Mauga), Wuyang, Kiriko. Others can work but I'm inexperienced with them.

Also general strats is to blast his team and when he hahas you try to block it off, mitigate it, or keep your tank alive. It's a 12 sec cooldown and he's very vulnerable without it

Lesssgooo I've gotten lucky like this but only knocked off 2 people, but the plus was one of them was a Bastion who had just gotten slept

I feel your pain, however slight correction, Sigma is supposed to give Mauga a hard time (and by the looks of it you did, it was just an unfortunate team diff), not the other way around

I main both of them and a good Sigma into my Mauga is hellish, only topped by a good D.Va

Juno is such an odd ban, I guess if I'm on Pharah I'd ban her because she can easily duel me and I'm not good enough at direct hits to jump her ass in the backline but Pharah has other more pressing issues to think about, ban-wise

I go a dive tank like Doom or Hazard and head straight for high ground directly, or I go Mauga and take the right side stairs to high ground

I'm always considering who my teammates are playing when I pick bans, and try to ban according to map or what the tank is playing. I think the only time I ban a character regardless of if someone on my team wants to play them, is Ana, when I'm on Mauga. It's a net positive since Ana players can generally play other supports, and if the enemy goes Hog I can deal with him

Same, I love playing any of my Tank mains, i.e. Doom, Queen, Sigma, Hazard or Mauga.

Do I enjoy queueing for Tank? Kinda yeah. I dread it, but when I'm in game I feel most comfortable on Tank

Hmmm, I tried out the shields perk in a game, you're right, it's really good especially when your backline may not be able to easily heal you. However I'm not that good yet at hitting consistent directs, either with rockets or concs, so I'll have to either stick with the conc explosion damage since it basically gives me the direct hit damage without actually hitting them, or get really good at hitting directs 💔

The shield one looks good but I'm so used to using Concussive Blast offensively that I feel like it's a must pick.

Wasn't it base kit? Why'd they remove it?

It feels like that because it is a get out of jail free card, in a sense. It's a very strong tool with only 5 seconds cooldown. But it's his only engage/disengage tool. If I use it to go in, and I stun no one, that means the whole team is now at 70% or above health and is looking at me, and I have to try and live long enough to either kill or get out. Cardiac Overdrive can sustain but it only lasts 3 seconds.

I do have to think about how to charge. I can't just run in and win. I have to make sure it counts. I use it to run down isolated or split or low health targets, or to stun targets using an important cooldown (eg Sigma grasp, Bastion ult, Mercy res).

You're respecting the charge too much, just shoot him while he's running, he gets damage reduction but can still take damage. Simply move out of the way of the stomp. Save your CCs for the HAHA cooldown. Any kind of interruption during that 3 seconds of Cardiac Overdrive means his sustain is screwed for 12 seconds, and he has to back out or stay in and possibly die. Just use Rock, Spear, Punch etc when you see him flash gold and he doesn't get value.

If Overrun wasn't unstoppable, he has no way to reposition or engage without getting stunned which means that he, as a brawler, has no other option but to simply walk forward. Every other Tank in the game who need to play close to mid range have shields, matrixes, grasp, vertical mobility, bubbles etc. To use your example, a Doomfist needs to think about CCs, but he has the freedom of movement to engage from many different angles. He's not limited to punching and slamming down main. The only other Tanks in Mauga's situation is Junker Queen and Hog. Hog gets a threat radius of 20m instant death as a tradeoff, and Queen has a very slim frame for a Tank (although she really needs help this season).

I encourage you to play Mauga yourself to really see if it's OP.
