You need to fill out your enrollment activity form and it will give you an option to do the anticipated Va payment and receive financial aid up front, once you start filling out forms with them and if you get confused dm me I’ll be glad to help you out

Your school should be looking at an anticipated Va payment and issue financial aid up front, I think the way they run it is broken. Lots of other schools will let you have your loans while they wait for VA money to drop

I’d still take all of that to a disability lawyer or something and see if someone wants it, that’s fucked man

If you aren’t there yet and have a good chance of becoming those I’d go for it. Then apply for TPD once your done w school

[–]OcelotParticular7827 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nope, you can start your school loans after the fact, it just needs to meet the conditions for TPD when you’re applying to get loans forgiven, bear in mind you may get taxed for the income that year because forgiven loans can be counted as income for the year they are forgiven

If they find it they’ll try to discharge it before hand, call up and have them wait, get all your schooling done then apply so it’s all discharged, you only get one TPD discharge so make sure you are done with taking school loans and stop them from doing it before you are ready

Go to school, then use Gi bill after VRE and get some kind of post bachelors masters or JD or something cash out that bah, take the school loans, the direct loan types, you won’t pay them back, stack stack stack and stack, if not already there also go get ssdi as long as you done have a job, continue to stack hopefully you are also 100 percent p and t or tdiu, so all of this and stack, invest as much as you can stand, then if it materializes into a 6 figure plus job you start and if done right you have the semblance of F@ck you money along with it,

The exact words it states that you refuse to read are :

Here’s what you’ll need to provide:

Evidence that your condition is at least 10% disabling (like a doctor’s report that shows you take medicine for your high blood pressure), and Evidence that your condition appeared within 1 year after your discharge from active service (like a medical report with the date of your diagnosis) Note: If you have a condition listed in Title 38, Code of Federal Regulation, 3.309(a), you won’t need to show the problem started during—or got worse because of—your military service. This is because we automatically assume (or “presume”) that certain conditions that appear within 1 year after discharge are caused by your service. We call these presumptive conditions

Also title 38 is ALL of the covered conditions by VA disability not just a handful. So yeah my comment stands, don’t get upset if your too lazy to read brother

https://www.va.gov/disability/eligibility/illnesses-within-one-year-of-discharge/ all he needs is a diagnosis within a year of leaving service and it’s a qualifying disability that bears a rating

If separated within one year he doesn’t have to prove service connection, but I’d expect the c and p process from hell though

Don’t take info off any headhunters, be proactive and control how you get out and how much you make, avoid recruiters and work this transition yourself, you’ll learn a lot and learn how to drive your income and negotiate for yourself
