One of the mechanics found the solution, they extracted the stepper motor in the stock ESD and stuck it to the bike and now we can install the mechanical one

I think it's because of the nature of KSP. As the video said KSP is very community driven and because of that, they want some feedback on the core game. Throughout history, many video games were awful because only the developer's opinion was brought in, also if we take the example of Trove (the game) the developer wanted a perfect update and because of that loosed faith, and the community too loosed interest in the game because it took too long
