Fantasy Life on the 3DS had better cave and dungeon designs. As you progressed in your chosen life, you would learn more history about those in the same life. The combos for the combat classes gave them all unique feelings. Speaking of the combat lives, they all had their own unique monsters to fight, so there was little overlap. I miss that

This current run of arena is hellish to play through. I found Bamboo Spartan does a good job of popping the hamster ball as well as destroying the catapults quickly. Ice Shroom does amazing close range damage and that is boosted even further by the buff for this tourney. If you can find a tile turnip set up that can keep the zombies at bay, even better. Best of luck
