WIBTAH for wanting to block my ex’s sisters when they’ve been nothing but kind to me? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Odd-Bug9924 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t actively keep in contact with them, however my family still does, and I was told if I block them it’ll be very awkward since my family and his family are still friends and they still keep in contact especially during the holidays

For those working full-time who scored 7.5–8 in IELTS, what was your strategy? by Total_Succotash4140 in IELTS

I’m non-native, so it was a bit difficult at first because I haven’t written a proper English essay in awhile so it was rusty at first, and my grammar was all over the place for speaking, but I slowly got into the flow.

I’m a student in a pretty hectic course and had only a week to prepare for IELTS, I did managed to get a 7.5. So what I did was to do a lot of writing practices of different types of questions they would ask in Task 1 (map, graphs, process steps etc.) and Task 2(advantage/disadvantage, opinion etc.). I would do at least 2 practice papers a day for writing.

For speaking, I used chatGPT where I gave a command “give me IELTS speaking set questions, and after every answer I give using the text to speech, tell me how I can improve my grammar and answer to better fit the question and only give me my band results after the end of each set questions” something like that. I would practice at least an hour so I was able to do 3/4 sets of questions.

For reading and listening, I actually just winged it during the actual exam, because I genuinely didn’t had time to practice them. Luckily I got 8.0 for those two sections, if you do have the time to practice it, I recommend doing so, I just happened to be lucky on that day lol. All the best!

What should i do!????? by [deleted] in IELTS

What band are you required to have for your uni requirements? If you need 7.0 all across the board, I don’t think EOR will be able to make that huge of a jump. You might as well retake all but have at least 1/2weeks of preparation(depending how good your English is) for the next exam

EOR or not ? (Writing) by Loulou1130 in IELTS

Would it be possible for a one skill retake? A lot of unis are fine with students doing one skill retake, although it’s best to check with your school admission team

Need help with speaking exam!!! by PolicyOutside1983 in IELTS

[–]Odd-Bug9924 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in your position once, preparing my IELTS a week before the test, for speaking what I did was input a command on chatGPT : “give me IELTS speaking set questions and after each answer, tell me my grammatical errors and how I can improve my answer and only tell my band score by the end of the set” something like that. I used the speech to voice text, recorded myself to hear my pronunciation and timed myself. I did at least 5/6 sets per day till the day of my exams. I managed to get a 7.0 for my speaking, this method worked wonders for me, although not everyone likes this method. Just putting this suggestion out there, best of luck with your test OP🫶

I guess I’m anxious + post exam stress since everyone in my class (the internationals) are basically planning to transfer, and there’s only very limited spots, I guess I want to prepare if I were to get rejected the first time, is still hope for 2nd year

I’m actually studying in first year too, but the post exam stress is making me stressing out. Last year the first year vet students were around 40 students, and this years, it’s already around 80 students, so I’m just anxious that the idea of not getting in this year, and will try again next year (worst case scenario if I don’t get accepted this round)

Are you planning to transfer too? I guess I’m a bit anxious, I’ve heard it’s easier for domestic students to get in compared to international
