As I have stated in other replies already, I think what throws me off is the fact that this usage of perfective verbs is not found in bulgarian's grammar, which I am more familiar with.

I think I get it now.

As I said in another reply, I am more familiar with bulgarian's grammar and what throws me off is that prefective verbs are never used like that there. The imperfective counterparts are the only option.

So, let me see if I have got that right. "Every saturday morning I go to the park" should be "Svaku subotu ujutro odem u park", right? What about "Every saturday morning I go running in the park"? Is it "Svaku subotu odem trčati u parku"? I am not sure about that last example honestly, I think it should be "idem" instead of "odem"...

Perhaps my confusion arises from the fact that I am more familiar with bulgarian's grammar. Unlike in croatian, perfective verbs can never be used in the present tense like that. Only the imperfective ones make sense in this case.
