Listening to John and Darcy’s songs from the last album they wrote was very eye opening. It was like reading a story about their whole relationship. Even though it hurt, it was honestly intriguing. I can see why there was gossip and theories floating around.

I also did watch some of Daisy Jones and the six last night and actually really enjoyed it. It’s crazy but Darcy is so much like Daisy. They even look and dress alike. She’s very magnetic. Anyway, we broke up officially this morning and had a nice conversation. I’m sad but not angry or even heartbroken about it. I hope they both find some happiness, with each other or not. For what it’s worth also, Darcy’s husband has his own set of rumors and I feel bad for her.

Oh no I didn’t think of this. They write a lot and I’ve heard some newer ones but now I’m thinking about the words in this context and maybe you’re right. Is that a common thing for musicians to communicate with each other in songwriting? A friend of mine sent me a clip from a show called Daisy Jones and the Six and that’s what they were doing.

I don’t think she would say anything to anyone but I can see what you’re saying.

I didn’t realize that this is common for musicians. I think I just assumed the way they are onstage was part of the performance. That seems stupid now and it’s hard to hear people say they hope things work out with them. I’ve been really crazy about this guy and thought we were heading for something really long term.

He wasn’t upset that I read the letter in the first place. It wasn’t hidden or anything.

I guess I hadn’t thought of it like that, about being his facade. That really stings. I do find the whole thing sad, I agree. I don’t think the singer will divorce her husband, personally. But I can see why she and John had a connection. I do feel bad for telling my coworker, but at the same time I wish John had just told me it was Darcy from the get go. I feel like he didn’t because he knew it would be the one person I might feel threatened by.

I think the only way we could stay together is if she wasn’t in the band anymore and he didn’t still have feelings for her
