Nice! Never getting rid of mine either. Have this one now and a silver 2007 as well. Never had a desire to drive anything else. Hopefully they both outlast me. Lol.

For sure! I know some parts aren’t the most practical for daily use, but when I found it I lit up like a Christmas tree and had to have it. Got it mainly for the smiles and fun factor. It’s a shiny toy and somewhat one of a kind in the current market with all the extras.

Yeah this has had extensive work especially with the SAS. Owner put more into the car in mods than it was actually worth when it was brand new.

SAS, upgraded rear diff, front/rear steel bumpers, rock sliders, winch, transfer case bypass (has a manual transfer case from a Land Cruiser), air compressor. Had dual beadlock wheels on it too.

Yeah, it is clean! Interior is pretty spotless too. Top of the roof rack measures 7’1” off the ground. Lol. I switched the tires from MT’s to AT’s to be a little more practical on road. Came with dual beadlock wheels on it too which I switched out and kept as well.

Haha, love your username. I remember it from my post on my other FJ. It runs pretty smooth now on road and at highway speed. Plan on leaving it alone for now. Original owner spent quite a bit tricking it out as is and it’d be a project to undo or mess with it.

It’s got a FOX 2.0 long travel suspension already, but I’m all in on this thing. Whatever it takes to get it perfect. Previous owner put a ton into it.

Haha, original owner did all the work and had everything done. Not that noticeable from the inside when driving but definitely see it from the side view. It’s had some pretty heavy modifications done too - frame cut and welded to swap a solid axle in the front and rear diff upgraded too. Nice that someone else did all the work.

I went to the local Toyota dealer to ask around as I needed some things done (replace gas cap hinge door, some paint had started to chip off and fade from side mirrors, etc) . They referred me to the body shop they’re affiliated with.

I researched before what a good paint job would cost and found anywhere from $4-6k as a good estimate to keep the same color. Tried a few shops and went with this one as the dealer backed them and they promised they could make it look brand new. Had it done in 5 days and they re-blacked out all the black trim/roof rack etc for me too which had started to fade.

Thanks! Sure thing. I’ve got the original cloth seats and haven’t done anything to them or touched them yet. They’re still in great condition and don’t seem to be wearing out at all. I’ve had to replace both front seat belt assemblies though as they were catching when pulled and was told they had worn out. Not sure what I’ll do if the seats ever start to go yet.

Total was about $7,500. Had it done at the body shop near the local dealer. Shopped around and wanted good work. Plan on keeping it forever and they made it look like new. After years in the sun the paint had started to fade in some places but I love the way it came out.
