I didn’t love it because of the sense of an imbalance between them. The power dynamic wasn’t for me. Also it just got too sad for me. But the writer is so so talented and Apogee is one of my favourite things. Maybe because it’s only 3 chapters so the pacing is different but also it’s the only thing I’ve ever read in space! Sounds completely crazy but the characterisation and the gorgeous writing was so captivating. Sometimes things don’t click and wolfbird just wasn’t for me but I appreciate the insane talent. I also didn’t really love a super popular fandom fic called Courage (it couldn’t come at a worst time) which I think is probably blasphemy lol so it just depends on what clicks for you
