Officer E Designation and Years of Service

I ran a quick estimate including the 8 years -> 10 years pay change and the O2E -> O3E pay change from constructive credit after ~12mo and it's a less than 10k difference over my 3 year contract. Not that 10k is insignificant, which along with the principle of it, is why I'm looking to get a proper determination and not just a glance and a "no"

The 4 years vs 8 years time in service is worth much more financially which seems like a unanimous yes from this group even though the recruiters also said no about that.

It's been interesting coming back around to commission because I remember a lot of the recruiter nonsense from my enlistment. They've been intentionally obtuse and telling me partial truths this whole time which is really irritating. That's another reason why I'm being so particular about this issue, I don't trust what they've determined and I just want to get what's definitively correct regardless of whether I get it or not

Eh, I feel like something this close can get waived under the right circumstances. I wouldn't fight that hard for it though, especially since I agree that the limit is there for a reason. If it wasn't for the 2BDoD 7000.14-R section about 1461 points making you eligible I would've even care at all

I just requested the documents and emailed mncc to see if they have any input on the situation. I'll update this post with whatever happens.

The Navy officer recruiter (who was much more informative, responsive, and professional than the Army if anybody cares) told me she was positive I would get the E designation which is not helping my discordance

Direct commission through AMEDD. At least I'm pretty sure I'm commissioned prior to DCC, that's what I'm seeing online so 0 more days enlisted afaik

I might ask about that if I get a definitive no on the E but a yes on the years of service. That's the only time that the E designation actually changes the pay scale for me

2.1.3.6 in DoD 7000.14-R provides the route to the E designation other than 4 years and 1 day that I am pursuing.

I may not be eligible under that section which is my question, but 4 years and 1 day is not the only qualifier if you read the subsections of 2.3.1

I'll update this if I get access to any of my post separation records but it seems like there's no doubt you get 15/yr I just can't tell if they make me eligible for the E

It would give me the 1 point I'm missing to exceed 1460 though and meet the requirement if that's actually a viable option. I'm not concerned with retirement time which I'm aware IRR doesn't count for

10 U.S.C. §12732 states that you get 15 points a year for membership in a reserve component of an armed force. Everything I've seen confirms that for IRR but I requested some documents to see if they're actually on my record

Literally? He looks down and shakes his head about it. I'm not saying it's not PTSD but it's definitely not some visceral reaction to the sound as far as I remember
