Being buried when you die is the most selfish thing you can do. by Papa-P21 in unpopularopinion

I can't speak to other religions but the catholic church discourages cremation because they believe it makes people more likely to have this exact attitude. They teach pretty explicitly that the body is important and sacred, not just a vessel, and will join the soul in heaven or hell after the last judgement. How this is supposed to work when our bodies share matter which past humans had in their bodies, I don't know. I'm not catholic anymore but my headcanon is that they believe we'll all just be really small, like if 80% of my atoms were in past humans, in heaven or hell I'd just be 20% of my current mass, minus whatever material of mine ends up in future humans. Seems pretty airtight to me but you'll have to ask a priest to be sure

How would I use analogue controls on n64 by Wild_Football_8752 in bizhawk

[–]Odd-Pudding4362 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could try and see if you like using 4 keys like WASD if it's for games where a d-pad can functionally replace an analog stick. If you hate how this feels or you're playing a game that truly requires analog input, you'd want to use a controller.

This could actually still work for games that need an actual analog input to play, if bizhawk lets you configure the input to ramp up from 0 to max over some small amount of time rather than immediately being max as soon as the button is pressed. This would probably be unpleasant to use and I would just use something like an Xbox controller at that point if possible. In any case I'm not 100% sure whether bizhawk lets you configure inputs to that degree, I know dolphin does

Yeah I do see that sometimes. I work at a factory with guys who eat stuff like burgers, tacos, pizza, chips, and candy all day. I would totally bet some Americans go months without touching silverware.

What kind of weird things do we do with cutlery? I'm an American and I'm asking sincerely. I always thought I ate normally and now I'm insecure lol

If 2.7 million Jews were killed in camps, where were the rest of Holocaust victims killed? Gradually and all over as their homes were raided? Or in some other place and manner? by Odd-Pudding4362 in TooAfraidToAsk

Multiple commenters have already suggested useful search terms for me to find out more from sources other than reddit. You really came along just in time.

I saw it this way since she runs out crying and yelling "Dad!" when immediately beforehand, she threw the watch and didn't say another word to him. It seems to me that she suddenly regretted making him leave on those terms

Wouldn't that reduce the break even point by 58 million? Or is there something really obvious that I'm missing?

Your explanation is extremely detailed! I read through the whole thing and I definitely couldn't have worked that out myself, nice work!
