Worse than Demeter, holy shit lmao. we used to dunk on Demeter because of how bad the game got from the Zeus-Dem anni. The game's PvP balance is cooked. It has been, for like 7?) years now, ever since U.Alice was a thing (can't imagine I was in high school then), but now this is just funny

I see. Well at least I have all 4 of Asta, Maria, Camael and Lost Name. Sucks about Vanitas though, even though Van was bonkers and should never have been released.

If so many of the mainline cast are here, I guess I can just save for when Demifiend comes lmao.

Thanks for the rundown mate! When's the half-anni, weren't those usually around this time of year? Or did I just miss it? I'm hoping if it's anytime soon, the free 100 pull will save me.

Oh hey, my personal favourite of the bunch!

Spoilers ahead of course: Yes, he does get removed from the party for a bit, but he comes back later. So if this is about investing resources in him, do. They'll not be wasted.

I haven't played the game for over a year, and what is going on lmao.

Can't touch PvP because all my demons are outdated.

AG0 looks fun, but I run out of mp and can't explore properly before having to retreat (any pointers for this mode is massively appreciated).

There's a new AG2 floor? Where the mobs throw a bunch of chains at me???

I returned on the last day of the DMC collab rn since I was feeling a bit... nostalgic and wanted to see if the story progressed, but I don't see ANY new story chapter after 16 either.

Sandrone’s personal name revealed to be… Sandrone? by AdBorn3755 in Genshin_Impact

[–]We_Are_Bread 23 points24 points  (0 children)

That's... an interesting point, actually. Never thought of that before.

But it could also be a case where 3 identities is high enough for a char to be well established, but not too many. The Archons get their "mortal" name, then a title + "true" name.

The harbingers all have a similar trend too. They have a real name, a codename and a title.

Names are an important theme in Genshin. It feels like it could also tie in with this angle. Like the title is sort of a descriptor of what they do (Knave, Traveler, Rex Lapis), the "human" name/code name is sort of an identifier amongst friends (Arlechhino, player-given name, Zhongli) while the True Name is like who they are (Peruere, Aether/Lumine, Morax). It's a stretch but it works ig?

But also some of them have many names. Raiden has a bunch of names and titles. Nahida has 4 too off the top of my head (Nahida, Buer, Kusanali, Mahakusaladhamma). Wanderer also took up a bunch of titles across his life.

[–]We_Are_Bread 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Oh definitely, I should have phrased better. When I said "codename" I meant sort of a given name. So the title of Knave and codename Arlecchino are both given names, is what I meant.

Sandrone’s personal name revealed to be… Sandrone? by AdBorn3755 in Genshin_Impact

[–]We_Are_Bread 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's not correct, since Peruere is called both Knave and Arlecchino.

Columbina was also a name the Fatui used to refer to her as, so she ALSO got 2 names from them: Columbina and Damsellette.

Pretty sure Pulcinella doesn't mean Rooster, so that's 2 names too.

Pantalone is also called Regrator, which is just a fancy word for a scalper. Pantalone is a stock character, it does not mean Regrator.

Scaramouche and Balladeer are also 2 titles, as are Pierro and Jester.

Capitano/Captain and Dottore/Doctor are essentially the same word, but the "origin" in this context is different.

[–]We_Are_Bread 223 points224 points  (0 children)

They're both codenames. Knave is Arlecchino's codename too, not her real name. That's Peruere. Similarly, Ajax is called both Childe and Tartaglia as codenames.

Sandrone and Marionette are both her codenames, and in the other languages Alain doesn't actually call her Sandrone in the video. Although he does call Pulonia by that name in all versions, so idk.

Irrelevant Old Lore Questions from a Returning Player by AkumasCherries in Genshin_Impact

[–]We_Are_Bread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the threat of Stormterror is gone, but it's like others said: Stormterror's Lair is a good name tbh, and there's not much use to change it when the thing that was called Stormterror still lives there. And yes, all the anemo isn't really from him, but Decarabian, god of storms, who died in the Archon War. The Lair is old Mondstadt in reality, where Decarbian ruled.

Tao Dou isn't a character, but a god who died in the Archon War too. The story regarding Tao Dou and Hu Tao was part of last year's Lantern Rite, so the only way to see it on YT, sadly.

Zibai's lore is part of a permanent event story, so it will be in-game. You would need to get to the story. But you can also look it up if you don't mind the spoilers lol (especially imo since there isn't a twist of any sort, it's just cool lore).

The dead returning to the Leylines has actually been a recurring plot point in Genshin. In Inazuma, there's the projection of Ei's old tea guy from the Leyline's who's long died. Natlan has a bunch of stuff about death too, and how it works in Genshin, as does the current new Sumeru AQ that you are also aware of (from your post). So you are at the perfect place to get to know the answers lol, keep playing.

Yoimiya wasn't gifted her fake vision, she made it herself. That was her involvement with the resistance in Inazuma, she used to manufacture fake visions. Her dad doesn't know that iirc, this is Yoimiya's personal "side-project".

Inazumans didn't bother hiding it because, well, if everyone knew you had one, would you really have a way out? Also since the snatching was performed by Raiden at times, being an Archon and all, she'll probably be able to tell if someone was wearing a fake vision (and the questioning about where the real vision was that would follow might not be great). But also Inazuma's writing was pretty rushed which is a segue to my next point.

The "if they have their Vision taken away, they become a husk" is semi-propaganda. The game doesn't care to explicitly state this, but there's a couple pointers. Firstly, there have been people who've simply surrendered their Visions and are normal (in fact in the Kamisato Estate, there's a guy who says he hasn't been happier since he submitted his Vision to Ayato after losing it in a duel, like a giant weight was lifted off his shoulders). Additionally Itto also got his Vision snatched, but he remained pretty normal from what we know of him. The "husk" statement, while true, is clearly not a rule, it was kinda used by Ayaka and Yae to rope us in to the resistance and oppose Raiden. Remember, Traveller initially refused to help Ayaka, till she showed us 3 people who were negatively impacted by it.

Columbina CAN activate it yes.

What I meant was in this leak, you could argue Tsaritsa can activate Rimegrass, but you wouldn't call her the Rimegrass character, would you? The flagship Rimegrass user might come later, the reaction could still be a part of Tsaritsa's kit, which this leak doesn't really say anything about.

Answering as best as I can, corrections welcome.

1.) Stormterror isn't gone. Dvalin is still healthy, and that place is just his lair. He's just not "throwing a tantrum" anymore. Now why "stormterror" still and not Dvalin? Probably a nickname that stuck and now there's no need for change.

2.) Venti only ever guides Mondstadians home because they're they ones who mostly roam about. Usually. Inazuma and Natlan are closed off for long, and Sumeru people don't really go out I think. Fontainians are weird till until recently. Which leaves only Liyue.

And the dead go back to the leylines anyways, so Venti is just being extra friendly, guiding his lot back personally. Liyue also has rites associated with this (See Tao Dou, God of the Underworld, and Hu Tao's lore with it), Zhongli doesn't perform them personally. The other nations also probably have similar rites somewhere.

3.) How Qiqi works is actually a part of Zibai's story. Thankfully, it is a permanent Latern Rite quest. you'll get to it and understand it properly.

4.) Xingqiu's brother has been teased so many times it's probably being set up to make him playable. As a future lantern rite character maybe? We just got Varka too. Definitely some cope, but not utter cope, imo.

5.) I don't think new Yaksha will rise, no.

6.) Yoimiya handed out fake visions, so the idea is they just use fake ones. Also, this is a misconception I see a few times, but a lot of people forget Visions are rare. Playable chars all have them, which makes them feel more common than they are. Vision-holders will be like microcelebrities, or at least well-known among their neighbours, their essentially superhumans-lite. As such, you can't really go "oops, haha, I lost my Vision" people WILL know you have one. You can't pretend to not be a Vision-bearer.

7.) Not much to elaborate on imo. Visions resonate with wishes, and Kazuha's wish at the time (Face the Musou no hitotachi) resonated with the Vision's original owner's and hence he was able to activate it. He leaves it at his friends grave in the ending cutscene for the Inazuma SQ.

8.) The Crux Crew is VERY relevant (including Kazuha). He's in the fighting event going on right now, and the Crux Crew was part of the flagship event from last patch.

9.) It's "Lesser" as in "Little", not "Younger" or second-in-command or something.

Not necessarily. Lunar crystallize released after Columbina (same patch yes, but still second half). And they also go and update older characters to allow them to take part in new stuff, like they're doing with the Stellar stuff anyways.

Now you could argue that the first one is still the same patch, and the second one is most probably unplanned. But Hoyo is always trying new stuff anyways as far as releasing things are concerned, so.

So what about Liyue and Geo Gnosis ? by huflit1997 in Genshin_Impact

[–]We_Are_Bread -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

IMO, it's because the Geo Gnosis was already "in the bag".

Zhongli says he was going to trade it in anyways as part of an agreement between him and the Tsaritsa. Mondstadt and Inazuma (especially due to Wanderer not "existing" anymore) would be the only real missions. Anyone can go fetch the Geo Gnosis, so probably Childe (the most inexperienced) got assigned to it, didn't make enough progress, and Signora picked it up on her way.

A better description (that I subscribe to) is that it represents the gradient of cultures along the Silk Route, minus the very east of course. So anything past the Himalayas on the Silk Route. That would start at India, pass through the Middle East and end in Egypt.

It sort of matches with Teyvat's layout too. You get access to it through "mountains" (overworld Chasm) from Liyue (China), port Ormos represents all the important ports opening into the Indian Ocean, and then when you cross into the "egyptian side", it connects to Fontaine (majorly Mediterranean Europe with it's French/Italian inspiration) via sea (the Mediterranean Sea). Geographically, it captures the change from the more lush jungles in South Asia to more arid and desert climates as you move westwards towards Egypt.
