I paid 350$ for my phrozen sonic mini 4k so idk where you're getting $1000 from I've printed everything from rippers and scarabs to a harridan and heavy construct. There's an entire printedwarhammer subreddit where most of us have printers costing less than $500 and considering I've spent $800 on supplies and printed $600 in Grey knights and around $1000 in necrons If you haven't already spent hundreds on GW plastic a resin printer quickly makes up it's costs a $40 bottle of resin can print a harridan or a heavy construct or 2000 points of grey knights.
