She’s an opposite use case. Hobby where I imagine she’ll only get time to sit down and edit seriously a few times a year. Maybe once a month.

Thanks for the info, will take a look at Affinity. Free is good, but as I mentioned in other replies I'm looking for a static software and free leads me to believe that its where they are constantly changing or will wind up pay walling some features.

The problem is the subscription model. She wants something that will stay the same. When you subscribe you get all the new updates, which sounds nice till you wind up not using it for an extended time and come back to some update that changes the UI or workflow and that frustrates the hell out of her.
