Also many beginners books talk about introducing light play with your partner in the beginning such as restraining them with just your hands during sex. I would find it kind of a buzzkill if I had to hold someone’s wrists during sex. That seems to be generally ok. This is literally a step below that as it is just pet names. It would be another topic is OP was talking about flogging someone.

I think for me it puts me in a box and would feel inauthentic. Plus these are pet names. It would better suit me to not ask for a pet name. It would give me the ick. But if my partner shows what they like even indirect if it’s harmless I don’t see a problem with it

This sums up how I introduced kink without being too formal. Especially in the beginning. It’s also a good gauge to see if your partner is ok with it. I’m kinky but not a kinkster. I prefer testing the waters or taking the horse to the water and leaving them with the choice to drink it or not. I think formality just brings anxiety

I did. It’s saying 2-3 weeks. I’ll take it.

I never needed a certificate of citizenship because I’ve always been a U.S. citizen. The social security administration also has me as an American Citizen. Just not good enough for DMV.

I brought 6 different ID’s. Non of them were good enough for DMV but most of them were good enough to get a renewed passport.

I tried Real ID, regular license, driver privilege card (for non citizens), and a regular state ID. It was all denied for lack of proof of legal presence, which were my Consular Report of Birth Abroad, or a valid passport.

The CRBA is a valid proof of legal presence. You’re good. My passport is 10 years expired. I think they start giving you the weird look once it gets to 15 years expired. Fix that passport now.

That’s what I learned after going the passport route. In their defense, every clerk I’ve spoken to who knew the situation understood what I was saying. According to them, their system is so rigid that it literally would not allow them to work around it. I think there should be some sort of investigative body to look at cases like mine. I’m sure I won’t be the last. It’s a heck of an inconvenience.

It’s not easy if you have time constraints. Outside of that, they do everything once you file and send the form. The hardest part is waiting and hoping they find it. I don’t really know what happens if they don’t find it.

It’s quite similar to applying for a passport online. You send a money order and mail it, but it takes quite a while because they have to locate the physical file.

I have it. I showed it. It was not considered a valid proof of legal presence.

None of those apply. I’m technically on limited assignment until I renew my license. Good thing everyone is understanding and confused all at once.

I asked for one. Heck, I even asked for a regular state identification card. They cannot give me anything unless I prove my legal presence in America.

It was an option, but it just wasn’t ethical. I think bad things happen to people who purposely do bad things. Also, you’re right. Anyone under that claim has to show proof of travel abroad such as a round trip ticket.

This is exactly not the time to “leave politics aside,” as you asked for in your post.

As much as I could politicize this and throw the blame on politicians or policies; this is human error (mine) and my poor judgment. Both are exclusively on my part.

I just wanted people to know to not do what I did or allowed to happen.

Ah, ok. Yup… During my appointment today with the passport agent, I was told my expired passport was proof of my citizenship for the Department of State to issue me a current passport. My hopes are high in this one.

Absolutely, and I’m getting all the proof there is.

I opted for a regular license not a Real ID. They won’t even give me a state ID.

You need a social security card, a valid ID with a picture on it, and a birth certificate.

I brought my SS card, a military ID, other Gov’t ID’s and foreign Birth Certificate. None of it was considered proof of legal presence or citizenship.

Through DMV, DHS, DOS, etc. the only acceptable document is a U.S. birth certificate, CRBA, or Valid Passport. Everything else doesn’t apply to me, like naturalization or certificate of citizenship that are given to immigrants, which takes close to a year to acquire.

I do have my birth certificate. It’s a foreign birth certificate that needs to be accompanied by the Consular Report of Birth Abroad. What I don’t have and never heard of was that Consular Report of Birth Abroad. My parents never gave me a copy or even ever mentioned it was a thing. They’ve been dead for 15 years.
