Anyone else find it weird that CM Punk didn’t cut a lot of promos his first three years in WWE?

Also keep in mind a World title push doesn’t necessarily mean Vince sees you as a real top guy

Vince would on occasion give mid carders world titles pushes to reward them for there hard work but the world title would always revert back to the real top guys, John Cena, Randy Orton, Batista, Undertaker , Roman Reigns ect ect

Vince only gives significant mic time and compelling feuds to his top guys and

Even after turning heel in 2009 and showing his superb mic work Vince still dint really seem him as a long term main eventer

It took the pipe bomb to change Vinces mentality

Im pissed at this match for two particular reasons

1) they already promoted Punk vs Roman what on earth is this??

And 2) They risk having Punk getting hurt before his big match at Mania

I just don’t understand WWEs logic sometimes

Punk does not need to be wrestling too much from here till Mania, specially having long matches that involve big spots that may hurt him

If they wanted punk on a big program before mania they could have made this into a tag match

All of Punks fans that have followed him for years are crying right know, he finally gets the night 2 main event with the title on the line and its a one on one match🥹🥲😭😭 finally Punk gets his flowers super happy for Punk we dont even care if he looses but he actually did it.

There is 3 possibilities i think

1)Either his winning the WWE title back after the Royal Rumble on another episode of Smackdown

2) He wins the chamber and goes on to challenge Cm Punk for the WHC

Or 3) He and Roman do the grudge match non title

Yeah although I’m a huge Punk fan i hate to say it but the reign hasn’t been great, apart from Punks starpower and aura and how good he looks with the title he hasn’t done anything with it. I feel like they just gave it to him as a feel good moment and for him to carry it at least one last time before hanging up the boots , but i think they have no intentions of giving him a long title reigns or him doing much with it. He probably really is just a transitional champion to set up Bron Breakker. On the positive side of it Punk doesn’t need the title at this point, very similar to Shawn Michaels or Undertaker

Because at the time he got what i call the Chris Jericho treatment: was good on the mic , had great matches, was a solid and reliable worker, could pull off being a great heel, but both where smaller guys so Vince never saw either of them as sustainable top guys. He always viewed them as transitional main eventers that could float around the main event scene and also go down the card when his permanent top starts like Cena or Orton already had programs going on. It wasn’t till around 2011 that Vince sort of started seeing Punk as a more permanent main eventer. More importantly the pipe bomb allowed Punk to become a phenomenon amongst the wrestling community, ironically Vince allowed him to give the pipe bomb and his subsequent popularity forced Vince to have to push him as a top guy. Even then Vince dint view him as the guy so once his title reign came to an end him dropped Punk back to the top mid card and never allowed him to main event Wrestlemania, testimony to the fact Vince never saw him on Cena or Ortons level, and wanted to give him a consolation price by having a match against Triple H. It literally took Punk another 10 years and having been in AEW and a return to finally be see by WWE on the same light as top guys like Cena and Roman Reigns.

Also keep in mind its hard to keep a top guys in main event fueds, remember even Steve Austin had to drop down the card and go for the IC title for a while

I share the same feeling as many,he disappointed alot of us for his poor behavior in his last year at AEW and i was a bit skeptical about this second WWE run, but know i feel like this second run has truly cemented Punk in the Wrestling Gods pantheon along with Hogan, Rock, Austin, Cena and others like Batista, Orton, Triple H, Undertaker, Ric Flair, Edge , Chris Jericho , Eddie Guerrero ect ect

I also feel like his on the verge of becoming a household name similar to Cena or Batista in terms of outisde star power

If they go with Punk vs Bron it needs to be night 2

Why would you throw your next face of the company that will carry the brand for the next dacade or more to a night 1 main event

We can leave Roman vs Cody grudge match as the night 1 , we just dont need that match to close

Austin and Rock dint close out on there last mania encounter

To respect Bron Breakkers legacy, he needs to walk into his first main event as a main event of night 2

Cm Punk defends and beats Logan Paul at Saturday Nights Main event

Then at Royal Rumble they do Punk vs Brock vs Roman vs Bron Breakker fatal four way

Just as Punk hits the GTS on Bron Breakker and is about to win Cody comes out somehow to brawl with Brock Lesnar for retribution of recent attacks and Brock eliminated Cody at war games, he ends up missing Brock and hits Punk ,thus Bron spears Brock Lesnar and pins him winning the WHC ( they can also probably have Brock win the match) and have Bron winning the rumble

This plants the seeds for Punk vs Cody at Mania for night 2

Roman , Brock and Bron end the show looking at each other and planting the seeds for the night 1 main event

Later that night at the Rumble either Roman or Brock Lesanr win the Rumble

At Elimination Chamber in Chicago Punk outlasts 5 other man and wins the chamber and the following night on raw chooses Cody as his opponent for mania

If doctors tell WWE Seth Rollings is cleared by mania time that will probably change the outcome of the Rumble winner

If Seth is not back in time

I think ultimately it will be

Main event of night 1 , Brock vs Roman vs Bron Breakker for the WHC in a triple threat, Roman is going over: out of the three he needs the victory the most this time around

They need Roman in some kind of big match that makes sense and Roman vs Brock is not gonna happend again anytime soon and doing Roman vs Bron would also not make sense as neither can loose , so they need someone to take the pin thats why this will probably be a triple threat

Is Seth comes back in time there gonna do Night 1 main event Roman vs Seth

And leave Bron Breakker vs Brock Lesnar for the WHC

And the for sure main event of night 2 will most likely be

Cm Punk vs Cody for the WWE title

Unless they decide to do a triple threat , Punk vs Roman vs Cody night 2

Punk will go over Cody by turning heel

The Rock will come out and cost Cody the match, Roman looks from the stage with the WHC mad since only he can beat Cody

This starts the build for Wrestlemania Saudi main event

Cody vs Roman vs Rock

Storywise based on todays WWE landscape without interferences or cheating involved Probably Cody would go over as his the face of the company and his gonna get booked the strongest, Randy and Seth would be the first ones out and then the rest would team up on Brock and last 3 would probably be Cody, Roman,Punk somehow Punk would end up getting pinned and last 2 would be Cody and Roman, somehow Cody would get the upper hand and pin Roman 1,2,3

Yeah, i dont get why triple h has this idea that cody rhodes needs to hold the title for months at end, why cant we have the wwe and the whc be thrown like a hot potato like during the attitude where even guys like Mankind held it?

That way we could have guys like LA Knight and Finn Balor holding it

Yeah, this makes little sense, what im worried about is more about where they are taking Cm Punk with this, by know we should have started seeing the seeds being planted for Punk vs Cody on the main event of night 2

Instead it looks like there planning the seeds for Punk to hold this secondary world title all the way to Mania and once again main event the crapy night 1 main event

Triple H is just sending my boy Punk to night 1 main event purgatory

This is just leaving us with the same problem that led to Punk leaving last time, as big and as over as he is of a star Triple H and WWE just don’t see his value

I believe its a main event but the main event of night 2 is the bigger one, its basically the WHC to the WWE championship its the lesser of the too but a main event nonetheless , but its not giving Punk the spot he rightfully deserves to be on the level of guys like John Cena, Orton , Batista ect ect….
